OFFICIAL Terrell May #296

Ready said on Triple M yesterday Tigers are pretty confident Terrell will be fit to play despite a disrupted pre-season.
Also said the club will be resuming talks to extend him as he’s happy here and wants to stay long term so an extension should be announced at some point.
Good news all round, maybe err on there side of caution in regards to him playing this week.

You genuinely don't think the CEO is consistently and constantly multitasking as is?
@Kelce68 you would have more access to confirm this than I or many other supporters have, but my understanding is that Benji wants and has been given permission to make all our recruitment and retention decisions in consultation with Shannon Gsllant and then simply passes the information on to Shaun Mielekamp to get it sealed and delivered.
I actually dug a bit further in this and asked “So if Benji wants to sign a player at a certain value limit, but that player will not budge and wants slightly or much higher, who makes the end decision ?”
I was told Benji sets the minimum and maximum amount we are willing to pay.

This could be backed up by an interview with Richo in the past where he said that Benji had a good understanding of the salary cap beast and maybe a big factor as to why Bula hasn't signed yet.

Moses has the bar set too high, hence a stand off.

750/800k is my thoughts, but I'm no expert.
seems about right given the premium that's required to be paid for a decent front rower these days, particularly with the cap going up.

I'm hopeful that in securing Taylan (and potentially Tyrone pending a few factors) that Terrell would be inclined to sign for a bit less than that. he's on about $665k currently, I'd probably try and just ratchet that percentage to the cap and give him another 3-4 years on top of his current deal.

Yeah, if they want to add to the brotherly love at the club then they need to accept a reasonable package deal, tit for tat scratching of backs stuff.

what you reckon he's worth realistically? hard to gauge from my view.
I think 700k - 800k tops is his true value, but he seems to be money focused and I’d say he’s looking for 900k based on Kalomatangi getting 1 million.
If we offer him 700k to 80@k and he refuses it, we will have no option other than to go as high as 900k if that is what he is asking as we certainly can’t afford to lose him.
Ideally I would like to see him reproduce his peak 2025 form early this season before wr commit to a marquee value contract.
It certainly makes our salary cap become very tight when factoring in what will likely also be a big upgrade and extension for Makasini who we simply must keep.

The problem is how do we fit Tyrone May in when we already have 5 very good halves ?
I have seen a few comments that Tyrone would be a good 13 or 14 at our club, however he’s been playing 7 only for the past few years and showing no signs of playing tough enough to be a 13.
I think he has become exclusively a 6 or 7 and I wouldn’t swap any of our 5 halves for him if I’m being honest.

Yeah, that's the flipside to the argument, he would have to cover a position that suits the clubs roster depth, that's if it even eventuates, all hypotheticals.

Maybe we need the Bunnies accountant 👍
