The NRL didnt de-register him, they suspended him for 8 matches. When he serves those 8 matches, he can play. Saints sacked him. New club can sign him

The Club that picks him up will own that suspension time...

100% but the post I was referring to said that the NRL wouldnt register him. They never de-registered him and as soon as that suspension is served he can play for who ever.

The poster your referring to is a bit wiser than that.
He would of meant the NRL wouldn’t agree to $350 as a nominal value of Vaughn’s contract.
Which I have to agree, Vaughn’s market value despite his recent suspension would be about $550.
Edit. Unless;
If the dogs were to pick him up next year they could very well sign him for $350 as he would be only playing for 2/3rds of the season.
So a wise accountant would make that his first year salary to factor in the time lost in suspension.

Vaughans market value, is what the market will pay for him.....thats kinda how markets work. His "market" value is greatly diminished by his own stupidity.

If the NRL or anyone else have a notional value for him, that is the opposite to Market value.

Haven’t you kind of said the same thing I just said?
Market value of $550 might be a little low, but would be the low scale of a high profile prop.
- the suspension / impacted value of being suspended would bring his face value down to 400-350k

Im not sure we are saying the same thing. WHat ever a club is willin gto pay him, IS his market value.....thats the market,

A player's market value is irrelevant. We cannot offer to pay Munster 200k in the cap and 2 million in tpas. That's just not good the cap works.

That's an extreme example, but you can't just pay any player how much you want under the cap and call it market value

Roosters seem to have gotten away with doing that in the recent past though.

They are very confident on the kennel that TPJ is a done deal to them and they are just finalising details.

Because they know more on their fan site than we do on our fan site???

Lose TPJ then Cotric .. then get a Floppaluma

Joe Stimson come on down

From what I have seen the true definition of a Storm Star and a failure at 12 other clubs

He looked the goods and dropped off a cliff at the Dogs ...even lost his motor lol

Lots of injuries mate and Barrett not a good mix

The problem with Pangai is he only has a blinder every 3 or 4 games.
We need someone with more consistency for 800k.

Most players not named Tomas Trobojevic , generally have a blinder every 2-3 games . Or even drift in and out of the games thier in.

People talk up Kalyan Ponga , Munster , even Lattrell , but those guys are extremely enigmatic .
I’d much rather them than TPJ , but still the point remain .
Most truely elite players don’t move the needle anywhere near as much as someone like Turbo . As much as we would all like believe that to be true .

What if Broncos paid half his contract? As they did with Lodge.

Blows my mind we would happily pay that amount for TPJ and not for finucane. Finucane is the leader we need that could change the whole culture at the club.

The key word being ‘could’. He’s almost 30 and played a lot of footy. Massive risk imo. You’re paying a lot for intangibles.

I would say alot more risk in TPJ. He has shown how hot and cold he can be, spends so much time suspended, plus his off field issues. I would much rather take that risk at that money with finucane then TPJ.

100% TPJ is only 25 he is way better value

Pangai junior is to young

We only sign people who are plodders and at the end of career

Why don't we sign pangai senior insteaf

Why Pangai, it's simple. At his worst, he is better then any we have. He is a metre eater, can pass the ball and create 2nd phase play, a hard defender, and a hard worker. Yes , he gets suspended and is a hot head, but so is Hargraves, so is every dominant forward in the comp. We have not had a dominant forward since the much maligned Woods, and that is one of the key elements missing in this team. That and some quality speedy backs.

Well yeah it is your rumour, you’ve been parading it on here for the last 24 hours. Now you’re got clearly massive doubts about it so you need backing.

No sulking over here. Just salivating at the apology I’ll get it when it doesn’t happen ?

Why is this even a topic? Pangai will only come here after every other NRL, ESL, ARU and quite possibly AFL Club have said no thanks. Which is what we should do. Nothing ever comes out good when you're desperate and the other side knows it.
