This is latest on TPJ I posted last night on Twitter.

Don’t be surprised to see Vaughan and TPJ in bulldogs colours next season. Bulldogs will be a different team next season

Well that's a truism. Tigers will be a different team as well.

Does he?

It's a funny one - he "prefers" Team X, but only if they can pay him K dollars. If not, then he prefers the Team Y who does pay him K dollars. Seems really that he just likes K dollars.

Doesn't really matter what his manager wants tbf. If the $$ are close it's down to who the player wants to play for in the end. The manager can push the player in a certain direction however the player isn't just going to sign with a club because the manager says he has to.

I think the managers have a big influence on where they end up - they negotiate the deals they certainly have the power to swing it the way they want. Since the Laundy's have become involved with the Bulldogs have they missed out on any player they have gone for?

Perhaps not but the dogs are still anchored to the spoon and will more than likely go back to back with it

I think they are building nicely next year - unfortunately. If they get Vaughn and TPJ that gives them plenty to work with.

Yep, dogs will be a heap better next year and will be the same old heap of ?.

Dogs fans and some media personality s said they be better this year and look how that turned out.

Dufty, naden?defensive liabilities if I've ever seen any. Paul Vaughn and pangai? Yeah that's great for tea. Culture.

I think the dogs have gone about it the wrong way. I would if got Burton and Addo car and then looked for tough young players to develop. There salary cap will be warped again.

Announcement will be made this week

But with who ?

Dogs have a meeting with TPJ manager today if dogs agree to pay a little extra than what they have offered he will sign this week with them. Tigers will be the last resort. They like what the dogs are building with the signing of JAC Burton Dufty Vaughan

If broncos want to offload him this year will that have an inpact on where he goes also?
I would assume they would prefer us as we would take him straight away..

Dogs are putting together a nice team next year while we sit back and enjoy the sun..

Maybe Chairman Lee, needs to be a bit more humble and reach out to TPJ manager and say he would be a welcome addition to the club. Also try and reassure him the club is not a train wreck in the making and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I know people are questioning Dogs signings but let's be real they may not be world beaters but they are some of the best that is available. The questions need to be asked if we miss out on TPJ also because we have the money and no one will come here .. WHY ??
Don't try and say they are players we don't feel would fit our team as most people would be cheering if we got a Burton, JAC, TPJ and Vaughan if correct on 350k... This is a team on the bottom of the ladder for the last 3 years and making us look like clowns..
I have my fingers crossed we somehow snagged TPJ but doesn't sound good :disappointed:

Heard he loves "Special K" too.....

I'm hearing his asking price has come down, mainly because no one was willing to pay what was originally asked.

I’d happily take any of them haha.

Dogs are getting Vaughan for $350000 cause no other club wants him

Highly doubt that. For one, will the nrl even register his contract? Big questions mark about that, even if they do, will they allow the dogs to register him at less than half his current contract value? No.

It's weird, dogs are going all in on players that pretty much no one else wants. They'll barely be able to fill out the entire squad on minimum wage with the current recruitment. And if a few of their many big name players on huge dollars don't pan out they'll be stuck in cap hell for a long time.

They also still don't have ANY leaders at their club, on or off the field.

Yes I agree, but plenty on here keep rubbishing the Dogs and their recruitment, I don't get it, Barrett can attract good players, Madge can't attract a fly to a turd

You could argue that if he can only attract one formal offer at whatever the price is then that is his market value

I think it is more a case of: Barrett plus an unlimited cheque book and no standards can attract players; Maguire plus a cheque book limited by what the decision makers in the club think players are worth and a lack of preparedness to take on players who have recently been involved in misconduct (Vaughn), cannot attract players.

They got JAC, we tried hard but failed, Burton is a good get, Naden whilst loose would improve our side, we have Laurie so didn't need Dufty, the Dogs need him, Vaughan at $350k would bolster our side.
They started well below us, but on next years recruitment, they have gone past us now, and there is probably no other team left below us at this point.
