Is this Pangai the next superman? By the sound of so many on this forum it seems that he is able carry a team on his shoulders. But. but why were Broncos so ready to get rid of him? If he was so good he would have been so very to the Broncos yesterday.

228+ pages of fluff about an overpaid, underperforming, hit and miss player that Broncos are keen to toss.
Is that it? Are we down to be that desperate?

As a group, yes we are. Understandably so. Personally I'm not super fussed on TPJ. Would not have been a bad signing but not a key step IMO.

I can very seriously see the potential of TPJ having a few off games next year then Bulldogs wondering what the hell to do with their high-priced recruit. TPJ already being left out of Broncos sides the past 12 months and they are hopeless. Sure he's fallen out with the coach, but there was drama around TPJ last year too (different coach) and TPJ previously self-approached Roosters looking for a way out. I'm skeptical about that kind of player in a rebuild / at a losing-proposition club.

At Bulldogs 2022 you will need to be mentally tough, be able to wear high expectations and a run of losses. I don't believe at all it's going to just turn around for Doggies and I personally don't rate Barrett as a coach at all. For all the talk about Madge's recent bad form and some bad years at Souths, Barrett's all-time coaching win record is 34.1% (31 wins in 4 seasons and about half of those came in a single season: 2017).

TPJ knocks around with BIKIES off the field. Has been spotted at BIKIE CLUBHOUSES. Can’t wait to see the Dogs reeling when he’s inevitably embroiled in off field indiscretions. Probably need to drop another 750k/year in legal costs for him. Lol.

I hate when people say this but im going to say it.

If our so called fans are sooking because the Bulldogs have or might sign someone we are interested in well then go and support the Bulldogs.

People who actually understand where this club is at understand the recruitment we have already done and how it will project over the next couple of seasons.

Stop being miserable losers and find the bigger picture.

As a society we demand instant gratification.

Almost 2 decades of failure has left the WTs with a negative brand amongst players. That's the sad truth.

We need to embrace this legitimate rebuild of on and off the field. ITS Happening.

Need the right players at the right price acrosss the squad.

Hard to tell this fan base be patient when we’ve made the finals 3 times when we’ve existed for over 2 decades

You also have to be patient with the regime you've got. Madge is in his 3rd year, Hartigan has just hit 2 years; Wayne Collins' first year as assistant. They're just finishing up clearing out the old Ivan Cleary roster.

So for sure you can say you are impatient with the club as a whole, but when you speak about the people trying to turn it around, most of them haven't been here more than a few seasons. Pascoe himself is in his 6th year, which is still very displaced in time from the Tim Sheens era. Sheens also hasn't begun his second tenure.

So you need to be patient with the current folks. That's why I am advocate for Madge's 5 year run - a proper duration for a head coach to try and make the difference. Raiders gave it to Ricky, Eels to Brad Arthur, Panthers took Cleary back... Dragons even gave Paul McGregor 7 years.

We either start winning or hire a coach that attracts these players.

I vote for winning. I'm not worried about missing out on these types of players. I want to see more signings like Stef, Luc, AD and Laurie. I know it's not easy but we've made some good signings and none have been high profile.

We've made some poor signings as well.

Just looked on the Dogs web site, they have no mention of signing TPJ?

News on seven this morning saying set to join dogs, another rejection of Maguire

Bottom line is that we missed out on a player that the team running 15th doesn't want. A player that's likely to end up in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Remember last year the Broncos had Haas, Pangai and Fifita and they were still rubbish.
It's not the end of the world.

A tip for the club would be STOP TALKING PUBLICLY ABOUT SIGNING PLAYERS

Makes the club look like idiots if it doesn't work. Don't understand why Lee has to blab his mouth constantly

Bulldogs will either crash and burn or gel and threaten.

It's impossible to tell which it will be, but I'm hoping for the former.

The more you spend on overpaying elite players the less you have for the players that hold the club together. They will have a very unbalanced squad for the next few years.Injuries and suspensions will hurt them worse than any other club. They will contending for the spoon again

Works for Manly.

But the dogs aren't Manly

Manly would only have DCE on overs the dogs will have far more on overs than that

No Manly have one of the most lopsided top end rosters in the league. Their roster is about ,8 players. The rest are bit players.

Hopefully we can burn through those bit players on Saturday night then

Penrith looking to sign TPJ on a 3 month deal before he goes to Bulldogs next year, much like Townsend to the warriors.

From Pete Badel:

"Pangai Jr was on the verge of formally committing to the Tigers last month, only for the deal to collapse at the eleventh hour when Wests bosses got cold feet during negotiations and briefly walked away from talks."

Has there ever been a club worse at negotiations lol

He probably thinks he’s being cutting edge or something, with all of the transparency.

I agree it’s pretty silly - as you said if a signing doesn’t work out it can be kind of embarrassing, and I can’t remember the last time a club openly admitted to pursuing a player, discussed some of the details around it, and it worked out and they signed.

I rather a player be clear and not come here than sign and dislike the coach and want out.

To Madge, its fine, if big names dont want to sign for you, no issues.
Melbourne Storm players started as no names to become great players.
Madge can use his "Men" the same way.

Well the dogs have now almost spent all of their cap for the next few years. They've gone all in on instant success at the expense of culture. They'll have a heap of highly paid lazy players, that are a disruption in the dressing room. No one wanted Duffy, Vaughan, TPJ is erratic on and off the field, then you add they've signed almost 4 players on fullback money now: Naden 450, Allen 500, cotric 650, Jac 700+. Plus 3-400k on Dwz.

Add two football manager's butting heads, a hopeless coach and a crap spine. They'll have these big name players and prey they all come together. If they don't gel early it'll be carnage for years

Still don't have a 9

Dufty, 1 year deal...
Not that good.

Worst spine in the comp

If true, our management really have to have a good look at how they negotiate and represent our club. Fair enough if they didn't think Pangai was a good fit for the club or whatever, but what's the point in coming back to the table after what Lee publicly said. We've obviously thought about having a crack at someone else i.e. Fanuicane and he's told us go jump. Lee needs to shut up and hold off on saying too much. We now look stupid and unable to seal a deal as a result. If we say nothing, no one knows anything until we lock someone in.

We are hopeless. Wonder why we are where we are

Our chairman is a principal of a large law firm and would have to excel at contracts and negotiation. Let that sink in.....😳
