By the sound of so many on this forum it seems that he is able carry a team on his shoulders. But. but why were Broncos so ready to get rid of him? If he was so good he would have been so very to the Broncos yesterday.
228+ pages of fluff about an overpaid, underperforming, hit and miss player that Broncos are keen to toss.
Is that it? Are we down to be that desperate?
As a group, yes we are. Understandably so. Personally I'm not super fussed on TPJ. Would not have been a bad signing but not a key step IMO.
I can very seriously see the potential of TPJ having a few off games next year then Bulldogs wondering what the hell to do with their high-priced recruit. TPJ already being left out of Broncos sides the past 12 months and they are hopeless. Sure he's fallen out with the coach, but there was drama around TPJ last year too (different coach) and TPJ previously self-approached Roosters looking for a way out. I'm skeptical about that kind of player in a rebuild / at a losing-proposition club.
At Bulldogs 2022 you will need to be mentally tough, be able to wear high expectations and a run of losses. I don't believe at all it's going to just turn around for Doggies and I personally don't rate Barrett as a coach at all. For all the talk about Madge's recent bad form and some bad years at Souths, Barrett's all-time coaching win record is 34.1% (31 wins in 4 seasons and about half of those came in a single season: 2017).
