The 5 players that failed fitness test named.

I heard Brian Fletcher say on SEN yesterday , that since the unfortunate death of Keith Titmuss, you can’t flog overweight players in preseason training anymore to get the weight off them quickly …. Apparently it needs to be done over a longer period of time , meaning that the preseason plans of the club can be disrupted … hence it’s a bigger deal now then it used to be..

Have no idea if any of that’s true …just repeating what he said
Perhaps the (excess) weight should not be there to start with?

This is really ridiculous... It's something the coaching staff should.be dealing with, not the board who only care about themselves.
What would the board know about fitness
The board meeting about the players facing the board; Dennis turns to Julie and says “what’s a skin fold?” Julie replies “It’s that blob hanging in front of ya belt buckle, what’s a Latu, is that some new coffee?”

It’s interesting that 4 of the 5 players involved are those low-to-the-ground stocky types whose extra weight provides a point of difference. Part of me wonders whether our conditioning is too much focussed towards creating lean vegetarian types that get trampled. I don’t want see players like Royce Hunt start to look like David Klemmer. God help us if he loses too much weight…
Perhaps the conditioning team got the KPI’s wrong for these blokes?

Incorrect, Benji was always one of the fittest players at the club. Fact.
Benji later admitted himself that he was overweight and undisciplined towards the end of his first Tigers spell. He did get dropped in 2013 after all. It wasn’t until he linked up with Wayne Bennett at the Broncos that he was told he was too fat and had to lose the extra 6 or 7 kilos he’d been carrying.

Bloody hell an actually interesting and insightful comment from Brian Fletcher. Now I've seen it all.
