You don't do that if you are fully intune with the coach and the place is heaving with confidence and motivation.
I am not saying Taylor is a dud, however the jury is still out.
We had 3 Origin players, and some good young talent.
I thought we finished around where I would expect the squad to finish. We need to make the 8 this year there can't be any excuses. We have lots of players at the right age and with over 50 games where they should be able to take their games to the next level.
I don't expect us to challenge for Top 4 or win a comp but finals is a minimum requirement really unless their are significant injuries.
We didn't have 3 SOO players when we had it handed to us Eddie in the games you mentioned
But you are correct , the jury is out
No Top 8 and Taylor will be a goner
Can we get that in writing?
I've said previously no guarantees that another coach could or would have done better, but that's not the point. You have to judge JT on what he said he was going to do and what he did.
IMO he hasn't delivered but all that aside he has 2017 to prove himself. My only stumbling point as far as next year is concerned, what do we do if we are really struggling by mid next season?
Does he see out the season, how does that effect our retention plans, will announcing his replacement give us a chance at securing our key players and also help attract other potentials.
On the flip if we are going gang busters do we extend or still look for a coach to take us to the next level,if there is such a coach available.
My only concern is, will we be able to attract players to the club with JT at the helm (given his reputation). Sure we have had players come since he has been here but they have been fringe buys not star signings. ET from reserve, Idris from wilderness (not saying they are bad signings but not players that we had to heavily compete for).
The more I think about 2017, the more I think it is going to be very similler to 2016.
