The Ashes 2015

The pitch offers nothing for the bowlers. Warner got himself out with a poor shot. This will be a boring runs fest which will drag on to a draw.

Lords Curator hang your head in shame for preparing a crap pitch.

Should always be something in it for both bowlers and batsman.

I perdict both Rogers and Smith will get close to a double century

The obvious result would be a draw atm, but scoreboard pressure can be telling. With no weather around, it's gotta be mentally exhausting going out there for the remaining 4 days of the test knowing you can't win. The toss means so much, if you win it, the least you'll get out of the match is a draw.

This is Test cricket. There is no gaurantee of any type of result on the first day. We look good but anything can happen.
So happy for Smithy and Buck. Great tonnes both.

There's no certainties at all Stryker, but it always great to have a positive start.

Like Everett said the deck is relatively lifeless and it could end up a 5 day 1500-run borefest.

There was still swing out there - Anderson at time looked dangerous. I have a feeling the pitch will deteriorate - he was already copping warnings for running on the pitch, so the umpires obviously think it's going to be an issues as the days tick over.

Warner is a clown shoe - what a wasted opportunity.

Wow. All the bowlers need to take a bow. If we get up it'll be down to this first passage of play. I thought Johnson was our best in Cardiff, but he's on another level here.

Looks like Australia needed one test to dust the cobwebs off and spark up, keep the momentum going boys and pile on the runs Smithy.

Poms fighting back somewhat. The wickets yesterday really has stuffed them up in regards to saving the match, cos the pitch is still good. They're still an outside chance, but they've left themselves probably too much work to do.

Only rain saves England here.
Superb by Smitty
Superb by Buck Rogers
Great first innings bowling dig.
Now Warner looks like he's finally hitting form. Just need Clarke to do likewise.

That Stokes run out…
You would drop a fourth grader for getting out like that.

That's right.

Any dopey would know you slide your bat in between runs on the crease let alone a professional
