12\. Akouloa

I would take Brendin Santi any day over Sitaleki Akauola.

You need someone to do some work in there (same as Fulton did).
Santi will do that; Akauola will not (and he doesn't have great hands either).

Still feel we need Taupau in the back row until we can buy some one for 2016 (if not earlier but doubt it).
11 Sironen
12 Taupau
13 Santi

14 Sue
15 Lodge
16 Ava
17 Halatau

This still gives us a good front row of Woods, Galloway, Lodge and Ava and we get more time from Taupau. Yes, Yes I know he is a prop but he will more than fill the bill.
Tears it up, great hands, nice offloads, bit of experience and the correct amount of Mongrel. Perfect in every way.

There are a couple of youngsters on the verge if no one is giving 100%

I'm available just waiting for JT's call  . Lamar Liolevave should be there after Pre Season trials.
Welcome to the Forum TigerBob.

Trying not to sound arrogant bit u are wrong.

I said 12 months ago that Sitaleki is the best backrow prospect in the competition. I concede that Josh Jackson took that title from him but if Akaoula fixes a couple of lazy plays here and there he is a superstar.
However I agree with Taupau as a back rower. He would kill it there but narrow minds say he is a front rower

If Halatau see's any first grade at all let alone starting then we are gone.

I like the guy, but as a player I rate him the worst backrowers in the comp.

so, 3 consecutive coaches in Des Hasler, Mick Potter and JT?

Why the obsession with a workhorse back rower? 3 blokes should be able to pull their own weight, instead of relying/hoping on some poor bugger to cover their miss.
11\. Sironen
12\. Akauola
13\. Lodge

Sue and Santi to spell them off the bench. Santi won't provide the same offence, but as the starters tire he'll provide some defensive starch. Slightly opposite to what I said above but the key is not having the defensive workhorse playing a full 80, it just costs us.

We need someone to step up as a "workhorse", singularly and/or collectively, particularly in the middle and off the ball. I see that as a starters role, leaving the more dynamic attackers to show their wares off the bench.

Hoping that with the absence of Blair and a substitute signing, between Sue and a more aggressive Santi, that role can be filled.

King Sirro:
I don't see your comment on Sitaleki Akauola as arrogant.
You think he should, I think he shouldn't. Just a difference of opinion. Isn't that what the Forum is?

I spent a lot of time thinking about this and as you pointed out he has a few things to fix up.
I am not saying he can't or won't. I hope he does and that as you say he will then "kill it."
I was going for more balance and a bit more experience.

pHyR3:
I did say "Yes, Yes I know he is a prop " - However beggars can't be choosers and we have front row forwards aplenty but we need some experience in the back row. That is the reason for my choice. IMO that would fix our immediate problem.

Three coaches can be wrong or on a different thought. If you were Hasler and you had Eastwood, Jackson, Funucane plus would you need Taupau in the back row? Apart from Woods we had injuries in the front row galore - Potter did not have the opportunity really. JT - well he hasn't picked a team yet.

As I said in an earlier thread - it is not a permanent switch but it could be. I see him as another SBW but we wouldn't want one of those! Would we?

My opinion:

11\. Sironen
12\. Akoula
13\. Halutau

14\. Tupau
15\. Ava
16\. Sue
17\. Lodge

Halutau doesn't have the impact of Tupau or Sue, but when he is in form he is a godamn tackle monster. It will almost be like having a 2nd hooker on the field.

If this doesn't work then I'd move it around to:
12\. Halutau
13\. Sue
16\. Akoula

i would like to see Woods at lock , he can do the same as Merrin does for the drag queens and it gives us extra size. we have enough front rowers in , galloway, ava, lodge, and tupau.
