Ivan brought him over and thankfully he fulfilled a service during desperate times.
Like others have commented, I think he would know his time, in the team, is coming to an end. I can understand any game criticism but stop misdirecting stuff that is ultimately up to the coach.

He doesn't know his time is coming to an end, he talks on FOX like he has sorted his issues after being dropped, he hasn't sorted jack, he still makes the same mistakes he has always made, but now he is slower and makes more mistakes

Why does your response sound like you're frustrated with me? I'm merely pointing out that some people are misdirecting theirs.
And you're only proving what I was trying to point out in the first place, and that is that his inclusion in the team is based off the coach's decision. But some people would rather resort to blaming and insulting the player rather than properly engage.

No one knows his inner thoughts, other than him. I'm a fan hurting too, so please stop with the dramatics.

I am not frustrated with you, I am frustrated with Benji, he is experienced enough to know when its time, but he won't accept it, and it is dragging the team down with him, which we clearly can't afford

I don't think this is true. He is only getting picked because our options in the halves are terrible. I don't think his salary is causing problems with our cap. If we had better options he wouldn't have played so many games.

I think Benji is embarrassing himself at the moment.

With Reynolds at 6 we looked our best and played some good footy and should have beat Penrith but for some poor officiating, we need to return to that, or blood Madden, there are options without giving Benji anymore game time

I think Reynolds has been really poor. I don't think any of our halves have been good. I think Madge picks on form. We just don't have the talent in the halves to compete.

You are right our halves are ordinary and we need a good one for next year, but I think Grub is a far better option than Benji this year

Thanks for clarifying @851, had to go back to check my posts to check if we'd had a clash on here. Hahaha.
Your post was similar to a phonecall I'd taken during the game. Almost abused a colleague and thrown the phone over the state of that game.

I have 2 daughters and a wife, I know well enough not to poke the bear, I just can see all the good work achieved, coincidently when Benji was in the grandstands, being undone as the season unravels.

Awww ???? I literally just felt my ovaries explode! There's nothing like seeing a man be a good hubby and Dad ??

I have a 19 year old and almost 22 year old daughters, they give me the hurry up on most things I do

I totally agree with this, I believe Reynolds and Brooks worked well together. I'm not saying it's the fix to all our ills, but they seem to play the best together and I think it's the best of a bad bunch of options.

Well sadly, he just blew that theory out of the water with his selection today.

I think if Liddle was up for the 80, Grub would be in the halves and Benji in the stands.

Spoken like a true princess.
Now go find your ovaries i hear they were at concord today and Benji has rediscovered his step look out bulldogs....lol

Now I’m not a Dr of Psycology. But the usual rhetoric about Benji going around again of “I’m still feeling good I’m keen to go around again, never say never” has now shifted to “well I have 7 rounds to go that I’m focusing on, they may be my last”
To me, Benji has been told his time his up at the end of the year. It also doesn’t appear that it’s a mutual decision either....

To me he talked about the next 7 games here, then said he wouldn't commit on if he was finishing up this year, which by the way he definitely should, but that makes sense after reading @Geo's rumour

Yeah that checks out. That was my point he emphasised 7 more games that could be his last. I tend to think they’ve already made this decision re Benji a few rounds back.
One caller on Talk and Sport mentioned in the Parra game, that Benji was the only one not to get in the team huddle whether we scored...

Just a bit of light intended humor based upon previous posts.
Benji footwork is a bygone era.

Even ikin said to him he is out of form and should retire.

Wonder who they have in mind I was watching sg ball there is a few good players there the 6 looks a very special player

I missed that, but glad to hear it, Ikin is right though

Well with Mybe being told to find another club, i don't think it looks like Benji will be offered to play on next season, However he is on significantly less $.
Benji you need to come out sooner than later and state you intend to retire so the fans can give you the respect you deserve in these final games, and that's just not our supporters but fans over many teams.
Great opportunity to do it Sunday afternoon game with a win over the Bulldogs and announcing its your last season.
