The Bus is FULL

Umm you must spend your salary cap on players..You can't syphon it off into new cushions for chairs in the lunch room..

6-7 spots are still up in the air…

New cushions would be nice though.

Its definitely not full.

Apart from another back (Rona), we need a decent 2nd rower to complement the forward pack. maybe another seasoned prop.

We are on the right track though.

With an offseason training for the position i think Marsters could move to the 2nd row next year. Solid defender, runs good lines, good hands.

Suli and Marsters in the second row would be dynamite.

In a year or two. They're still just babies. They're fine in the centres at the moment.

Not quite full yet - and I've heard Ivan say that himself.
I agree with Spud. Need a quality back rower and one more mongrel front rower plus a really strong fast winger (such as Rona - although that sounds like a stretch to becoming a reality). I think the first half of Sunday's game showed clearly how important a strong finisher on the wing can be.
Also showed how good a crafty dummy half can be as well - and we don't have one of those either (unless Liddle steps up of course).

Don't we need a **centre** to replace Naiqama? Suli and Masters are good prospects but are very light in experience and no ball playing ability. Need work.

And some speed on the **wings**? (Rona may solve that, Milne looks great but is another unknown…Nofa looked great on the weekend but ultimately he is awfully slow - Fanua not too dissimilar)

Re **FB** - Is Tui pencilled in at this stage? And is he going to be the full-time goal-kicker? If so, I'm happy with that. He was a very astute signing. Great game vs Manly!

**5/8** looks sewn up in Reynolds and Marshall. Tui can also fill in if need be.

Big question-mark at **halfback**. Brooks has had a season to forget. Again. In 78 career games over 4 full seasons he has had only a handful of "good" games - and no great games (that I can recall anyway). He has never commanded the middle, dominated a game or kicked well for a whole match.
I don't care that he re-signed. I'd be replacing him quick sticks.

Who do we have in the **second row**? ET is solid at lock but Eisenhuth and McQueen are two-dimensional and ordinary IMO. Having said that, Eisenhuth may develop, I guess. But neither strike fear into an opponent. We need a mobile, running forward who is a tackling machine. Most teams have one.

**Locks** in Matulino and Packer look the goods. Twal needs development and Sue coming off the bench is a bonus. Position is a bit thin but with a few other back-ups in Grant and Aloiai we can survive.

**Hooker** looks like it has to be Liddle. McIllwrick to back-up. Without doubt this has proven a huge weakness since Farah left (like it or not).

Let's not wear rose glasses - even with Matulino our forward pack would be the weakest in the comp. It lacks aggression, mobility and ball-players.

A bench comprising of a mix of Benji, Twal, Aloiai, Grant, Idris could be effective. IMO we need another impact player.

Lawrence, Lovett, CheeKam, Naiqama need to be dropped.

Can't forget that it's a top 30 next year on full time contracts. That's literally a first 17 plus the run-on side for reserve grade. Looking at our squad from that perspective, we've still got gaps to fill. Using Milky's thread as a bit of a guide plus a few hopeful signings of my own (marked with a *), here's what I've got.

1\. Lolohea // Marshall-King
2\. Nofoaluma // Watene-Zelezniak
3\. Suli // Naiqama*
4\. Fonua // Milne
5\. Rona* // Thompson
6\. Reynolds // Gamble
7\. Brooks // Marshall
8\. Matulino // Felise
9\. Liddle // McIlwrick
10\. Packer // Grant*
11\. Taylor // Rochow
12\. Lawrence // Idris*
13\. Eisenhuth // Aloiai
14\. Marsters
15\. Twal
16\. Sue
17\. McQueen

There's question marks over the health of McQueen & Lawrence, no guarantees that we'll have either Rona or Naiqama, and that top 17 isn't ideal either (but I think will be closer to reality). Still leaves the likes of Tatola, Lolo, Chee-Kam, the new Newcastle kids and Heleta as squaddies for reserve grade.
There's definitely work to be done, especially if we don't see a few of those with an asterisk around next year.

He's a backrower by trade, there won't really be a transition required for him.

We're still waiting for the firesale to start. A couple of clubs are going to have to shed players.

No to Hayne, and I would definitely offer Idris a low-ball contract if the medicos clear him.

i had forgotten about him

Id be inclined to keep Idris, Kevin and Grant as solid back ups if we dont sign anyone else

And fore sure re-sign ET
