The culture of bullying and abuse at Wests Tigers..

How come the Daily Telegraph doesn't write some articles about the toxic (drug) culture at Sharks. A few pertinent paragraphs on their players headed by Ben Barba would be a good start.

So if he allegedly said this… Why didn't the tele quote him like they did with the other things he said?

I have my doubts

Pretty good observation ink. I really hope the Tigers and brydens find something to put them in their place. It's disgusting behaviour how they keep producing these articles with out mentioning that we are 2nd in this now.

Obviously a vendeta by someone…I wonder who?

Also, I wonder who was in a position when this was written to have a couple of players talk to him in confidence? Mmmmm...

Yes with Brydens as our main sponsor now, surely they can make a case for us to sue the crap out of that poor excuse for a newspaper! And if we win big, then maybe we could use the money to go and buy some of the top players we so desperately need. The Daily Telegraph gets a much deserved kick up the arse and we get some cash to spend - win/win if you ask me

Maybe the Sharks were ranked 16th in 2016 and Rothscum just can't deal with that

And that's the annoying thing , surely the DT could bring up that the WT's have seen the error of their ways and are now ranked 2nd

Again using suicide and mental health for a story is a disgrace and why the NRL hasn't stepped in really annoys the hell out of me .

Do they understand all this does is drives people suffering from depression underground when we should be trying to make a positive statement that its ok to have depression and its OK to tell as many people as possible you are suffering , it will help other sufferers to come forward

Hopefully the improvements we have had off field will help us on field

Would have the upside of being current news too.

Some of these telegraph journalists would be better placed writing for woman's day. Seriously, ACA has more journalistic integrity than these half wits!

You having doubts has really sold me.

At least it's a change from your toxicity.

Whats your take on all this, paws? The article, timing, historical info being 'suggested' as current, the actual current club position relative to others, id like to hear your view.

2 articles in 2 weeks about mental health in rugby league… It sounds like a good thing to get it all out their for discussion, but again the DT is only talking about one of the best clubs in the NRL for managing such issues.

When will the DT take this subject seriously, and start writing about the 14 clubs who are worse than us?

Because its a complete beat up. They are not suggesting Mr Bond has any first hand knowledge just that he read a report and somehow came to the conclusions above. Ridiculous.

They then have a second expert and all they say is that when players are talking about suicide, that is a problem.

This article is clearly just a pay back for the press release the Tigers issues earlier this week.

The problem is I don't know what the club's action against the DT would be. Presumably the club has over 10 employees and therefore cannot sue for defamation. This leaves the tort of "injurious falsehood". Very tough claims to bring as it necessary to establish that the DT "maliciously" published the articles. Courts are reluctant to believe newspapers acted maliciously.

I suspect this is why the DT has published the second article. They are thumbing their nose at the WT's threat of legal proceedings because they any claim would very extremely difficult to bring.

Well there may be a lot of people on here who may need help.

This forum has been very vindictive the last 12 months with quite a few posters getting very personal in some of their attacks.

Everyone has their say on how depression and bullying should not be tolerated but quite a few are quite quick to attack their knockers on here.

The mods do cut short a number of posts or delete them but some posts continue to go 'over the top'.

Just imagine if certain staff and players do read this forum.
The number of times that I've read threats or references to JT getting punched or juvenile descriptions of him is just plain sad.

But I guess we are all hiding behind anonymity and that makes it right.

Actually, quite a good post ck,I have noticed over the last 12 months or so,certain posters seem to own the forum as their own little site…there are some who think that their opinion is the only opinion and there are some who belittle some posts because it isn't the same as theirs...I really don't care for much other than to have a say on topics based on my personal experiences playing rugby league or hearing of something that may be interesting for us to discuss....the question I have for everybody is,how do we all know who is who on this forum other than those who have met me personally, and would they know what effect their opinion on here could have if someone on the forum is suffering depression or other mental or physical illness.??

There is a fine line on what it takes to tip someone over the edge, none of us know what that could be...

Here's a thought, toughen up or stay off sites where you might be offended.

You cannot expect people to forgo their right to free speech just because some people may be offended.

With rights come responsibilities. This is an open forum where you have the right to free speech and the responsibility to keep it civil. There seem to be a lot of tough members on this forum. I suppose its easy when you're anonymous.

You can articulate an unpopular opinion Col without being a right twat about it.

I am not saying that. There is no excuse for personal abuse. However, people need to toughen up. If they cannot listen/read opinions that differ from their own, without contemplating self harm, or harm to others. (check out the US at the moment), that is not the fault of the poster.

So it is okay for you to intentionally offend someone by calling them a drongo, is it?

Here's a thought, there is no toughness in being offensive as an anonymous keyboard warrior.

Offended by being called a drongo? Really?

Good luck in the real world.

Who on earth is Ben Pike? Never even heard of him as one fo their cronies. Must be some uni student looking to get a popular article published so going down the same awful and rubbish path that gossip magazine usually publishes.
