Does anyone else think it is amusing that people think withholding membership or stop attending games is hurting the club….
SUre they want members, but IM not a member to give the club money, Im a member because I enjoy going to games of football.
Im punishing myself by not going a hell of a lot more than I am the club!
You might enjoy attending the games and forking out money to the club to watch crap… some of us don't, big deal.
This is not an attack, but I am curious.
Why do you come on the forum and write about Tigers so much if you don't want to watch the games after a run of losses? There are reportedly some 100-150 thousand WT fans around the country, the whole spectrum of involvement, but only a few hundred come in here and post on a regular occasion.
That's not to say supporters that don't use the forums aren't as involved, just that I get surprised to hear about people who will stop watching the team, or walk away, or revoke memberships, but they'll take the trouble to come on here and talk about it. Not that they aren't entitled to, just that if you feel strongly enough to stop giving the team your money, how does it also work that you want to keep talking about the team as well?
Are you happy enough to watch them, but if they lose, glad you didn't really pay for it (unless you are watching it via subscription)? Or you can't bear the idea of paying $25 to see the team get beat? Or you prefer not to watch the team when they are struggling, but you care enough to still come online and talk about the team?
I live and breathe Rugby League, I coach a team, I watch 4 or 5 NRL games a week, I often go and watch RMC games… I've followed Balmain and the Wests Tigers for 42 years. I will still watch Tigers games even when they're losing but the frustration levels really get me at times to the point where I say i couldn't be bothered going to the game to travel all the way home disappointed. As for the money side of things I just now am choosing to give up putting money into something that annoys me. It's more than crap performances it's the incompetent coach and his selections and the way the club is run like a circus without it appearing to getting any better.... I'm not a wealthy man so I'd rather put the money to something more productive at this point in time
When people buy Memberships every year Religiously of how the team is going, the Club is not accountable of how things are being run.
This year we supposedly have had an increase in membership to 12,000 I believe…..In my mind those figures have been botched, you can't possibly tell me after the Robbie vs JT saga in the off season that we have had an increase in numbers?
People that give there money ever year regardless of circumstances? Means you support the actions of the Club and the mess it got us in.
This Club that I so dearly love and trust that they are doing the right thing by us has put us through alot of pain the last few years we have had to see players like Fafita, Heignington, Beau Ryan, Bryce Gibbs, Adam Blair, Taupau and even gets you thinking whether Gareth Ellis got paid a percentage of his final year of his Contract money so he can leave early cause of the mess we were in.
Now I know people will be reading the names of the players I mentioned and saying to themselves " they did us a favour that some of those players left " it's not the point as we have had to let them go while still being under Contract cause we didn't know how to run a football Club and the people that we trusted to do so.
They have failed in there duty.
When was the last time we had a signing that made you jump in the air for joy? Adam Blair, Gareth Ellis.....going back 5 years
😱pen_mouth:, yeah sure we have signed players like Anasta ( past used by date) , Taupau was relatively unknown and playing Reserve Grade at the Dogs when we got him, Pettybourne was an ok signing at the time but did diddly squat here.
If our Club came out with signings such as Jennings, Foran, Scott, Gordon our Memberships would hit the roof.
I totally understand people for not renewing there memberships and don't think your any less of a supporter than someone that pays a Season ticket some just accept crap that's dished out by the Club or they don't want to lose the same seat they have had for years.
I ask you Forumers this.....I work in an Organisation that has a Union, do I keep paying my money if I feel there not doing the right thing by me?
I've been a Season ticket holder when your always languishing on the bottom of the ladder and throughout the Season there is nothing worse than feeling " i have to go to the footy today ".
I'm realistic that our squad isn't a top 8 side and I can accept loosing as long as I see progression in the team , but what I have seen is anything but that from last year
year.....will wait till the end of the year and judge it as a whole but it's not looking good.
