Couldn't agree more with your post.

With no more excuses this year, lets see how the team is performing before any decision on taylors future is made. Extending His contract before a ball is even kicked would be a big mistake.

Great post CGT. The JT lovers will never face facts, something they have in common with their idol.

Seems like the anti Taylor conference is over

Yep and it was a good one on the Gold Coast…...sorry ..... I've got to go, I just drove past a $700,000 unit that looks to be a good buy,
jeez,I hope I've got my wallet with me .

Speak to Underdog , he'll look after you , especially on the coast

It would be interesting to learn what player managers are being told about who will be coach in 2018.

considering his extension is before the board, they would be quoting Jason Taylor.

If true, it only confirms what many have suspected, that his tenure at the club is not results driven. Is it a reward for something other than winning games? Absolutely disgraceful.

Depends on what you mean by results driven Paws…winning every game, buying top players, finishing in the top 8,winning a GF....finishing 1 point out of the 8 last year is a good result, but apparently not good enough...I think your just being spiteful by saying a reward for something other than winning games...would you like to clarify ??
we are well aware of your dislike of JT..Im not a JT lover, just a person who likes to see others be given a fair go....

Well GNR,if people only want to see the negatives of everything someone does, then I cant seem to think of another word to describe them…..

We don't need any more uncertainties this year. Extend him for a year, he deserves that.

He could have easily kicked the can down the road with the cap situation, but not only has he fixed it, but he managed to get us within a whisker of the 8 while operating on fumes.

The RF situation, while unfortunate, was not played out in the media because of JT .. and we all know who leaked it. He should not be punished for bad handling there, unless you want to show everyone that bad behaviour from agents and players gets you results.

The support to kick JT after making these tough decision for our long term by some supporters is exactly why we are a rabble of a club. It seems too many of us want short term success instead and kick and scream even when we are noticebly on the right track.

I respectfully disagree i feel that we would be far more of a rabble if we gave him an extension despite doing zero in his first 2 years. He is getting a 3rd year if we make top 6 then fine give him another year but he has to achieve that goal."No more mediocrity no more excuses"

As has been stated here , he knew what the cap situation was when he came here.
As for his actual record here. He took us to a whisker off the 8 in 2016,
And a whisker off 16th in 2015.
There maybe some genuine arguments for an extension, but his record with us is not one of them.

He actually didn't know the full extent of the cap issues gct. Those became apparent as they dug more into the mess from the prior admin. You can go back and look at the timelines.. there were a few articles on it.

I'm actually amazed he managed to get us to 9th with probably the worst or 2nd worst cap position!

Jadtiger- do you honestly think there was zero improvement last year? Or is that just hyperbole. You can say a few things about JT, but fixing the cap mess, improving culture, and s&c plus getting us 1 win from finals with said cap situation is not "doing zero"

I like this. A voice of reason among the ship of fools.
We need some lean years before it gets better. We can't fix cap issues and backended contracts and expect to win premierships. It's a mess that's finally being cleaned up but some expect it to happen overnight.
We are still paying Farah for 2017\. We still don't have a fair shot when we pay others to play somewhere else.

I wonder why these negative attitude people bother following a team that is trying to pull itself out of a very difficult past few years. Maybe in 2017 they should jump to following favoured teams and wait until Wests Tigers really hit their straps, even as early as 2018.

I need to see a marked improvement in the defense before I'd consider an extension… It's our Achilles heel and we will get nowhere until this aspect is improved greatly

I believe we could have made the 8 last year by keeping Farah coming off the bench and there would have been goodwill from all sides. Winners are grinners and JT would have earned acceptance. Farah would have had the whole off season to find a new home under dark without controversy whilst games are on. Farah scored tries in his 2 final FG games and we only needed a silly field goal to reach final 8\. I still believe the team and fans were thrown under a bus - I could not believe at the time that that could actually happen, you just cannot do that when the final 8 is on the line. It was sad and I thought sadder still for the more dedicated fans than myself. This still impacts me greatly on whom should be coach from game one this yea.

We didn't deserve finals last year. Round 26 proved it.
If we scraped in we would have been bundled out in week one.
Let's have a fresh run with no Farah and judge Taylor with a team he wanted from the start.
He never wanted Farah, give him a fair shot without the club politics.

Hammertime our defence did not improve hence the "doing zero" comment. As for it being a better year than 2015 it was, but dont forget JT was in charge in the disaster that was 2015.When you take a team to the bottom (2015)the only was is up.As i have stated he has 1 more chance to get it right top 6 imo or out the door he should go.

We care about defence because we wasted a whole season playing TAYLORBALL, which was going to improve the defence instead it produced sweet FA.

Maybe Taylor made a mistake and changed it up for Taylorball as you call it.
Give him a crack with a squad he wants. Potter didn't get the privilege so we owe Taylor that. He got rid of Farah so he has no excuses. Yes we are handicapped when paying 700k for him to play elsewhere. It's a significant disadvantage that's no fault of JT.
The mess is inherited. Someone had to clean it and become the bad guy.

JT hasn't won enough games and success or failure is about winning games. Critically, JT couldn't get the team up to win for him in the big end of season big games. That more than any other issue should be enough to inform the Board (if indeed it wants to be informed) that a fresh face is required in 2018.
