The punters/Tim Grant

We are definitely lacking some grunt up front.

If we could get him back to something like is Origin form he would be a steal.

Its not that long ago and he is relatively young and fit!

I'd take him for 12 mths if Souths were covering most of his $$, but only reluctantly.
I think there'll be better props available as we move towards rd 1 and clubs have to do a bit of work on their caps.

Agree there, if he was at a minimal price on our books, we take minimal risk.

Just like the case of Matt Ballin, when our CEO came out and said that we had a very favorable deal from manly, the offer must be good.

Have concerns about Tim grants lateral defense, but could be a good 4th prop, for 12 months, until the younger props mature.

And at the right price of course.

Seems like Tim Grant is firming for the Tigers and I for one think its a good call.

He is still only 27 and can regain his form. Even last year for all the questions on his play he played 21 games for a top 4 team, made 90 meters a game and almost 10 meters per hit up.

He is an ex-origin player but we wouldn't be paying huge dollars and I think he could really be good for us in what is probably his last chance to get back to what he was

I think he would be a good pick up as we certainly are at least one prop short but as for his stats,Iam not sure you can read to much into them, easy to make yards when your playing in a dominant pack, bloody tough when your playing in a weak pack

An ex Origin player from the era of the longest losing streak ever!,

True he played in the longest loosing streak ever but he played 2 games they won 1 by 6 and lost the other by a field goal so he has a winning record one of the few NSW players to do so

According to some reports the Wests Tigers are expected to make a major signing announcement in the next couple of days. I am hearing it might be South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Tim Grant.
That to me isn't a "major signing" but he has been rumoured to sign with them..

For us it would be a major signing. Why not, we're pretty thin in the front row and i'm sure Souths would prop up some of his contract.

He wasnt getting big minutes so those stats are pretty solid.

Id say yes, we need some big boppers!

Just did a little homework.

He never played more than 44 mins and several times only got 30 ish mins.

Very low on missed tackles and as stated close to ten meters per hit up which is very good.

6 foot five and 111 kegs!

Cheap, big, decent stats? In a position we're a bit light on? I don't see how this wouldn't be welcome news.

Yeah true , but as someone else said it does have the Ryan O'Hara Mk II written all over it

This rumour has been revived by an account on twitter, this account also made claims that the race for James Roberts signature was down to Paramatta and the Titans.

Make what you want out of it.

Huh?? Roberts may sign with the titans? This is a very weird off season isnt it?

Yep as stupid as it sounds he said that.

This will only be a good thing. Souths will be paying a decent chunk of his wage and we are light on for props. If he is playing good enough he'll be in first grade. If not the likes of Graham, Griffin, McConnachie etc will keep him out.
