We just signed TWO 24-28 year old origin players, and a grand final captain.
NSW level...with all respect, QLD players often get there based on very little. Joe O is not considered an 'Origin level' player / was unwanted by his club.
JTJ was just cut by his club...
Both will be good signings IMO...but they are not "current / elite level rep players".
McInnes isnt NSW or Qld Level. Wouldnt get picked over Grant in Qld and Cook will get the nod before him in NSW. Good player but he is as much a "current / elite level rep player" as Joe O or JTJ.
Are we forgetting the jet wore the blue jersey ? Not the maroon ? You get an origin jersey you can’t call it token . Just because someone seems that side weak , doesn’t mean it actually is . Last year is a case in point . Qld won the series with thier B team. What does that say . Probably not much , outside of at any point anyone can be the best or worst in thier position , a lot of the value we place on some players , is purely reputation and bums on seats. In last years nsw team there’s not one player who played , who will go down as a top 20 all timer . But we make out like they’re all the greatest ever . It’s a bit weird how recency bias can change the way you think.
I agree with you and I think we may be arguing the same point, also I am specifically saying that McInnes is by definition, not at that elite level.
