Who is going to kick goals?

Rankin dropped
Moses groin injury
Simona couldn't kick a hole in a wt paper bag
Lawrence ?
Farah?

Let us go into a game with our hands tied behind our back.

This is JAC (who might score a try) we are talking about not Jarryd Hayne.

As I said dumb decision.

No - it's a smart decision. Pick your best team and Rankin therefore doesn't make the team. He has been kicking at about 60% as well. Someone will kick at that percentage.

I think it's unlucky for Rankin to miss out but that is how it goes.

Steve , we score the majority of our tries out wide

You have the right to your opinion , but you need to suggest who will kick goals if Rankin doesn't and Moses is out of the question with his groin

If we play against a side who has a good goal kicker (Thurston for instance) and they score 24 points it will mean we might need an extra two tries to win a game

That is purely mental , don't you think ??

Moses or Simona or Lawrence or Woods or even better Robbie. Rankin isn't a sharp shooter so let's not overstate what he offers.

Tigers finish on 30 points what do you think ??

i agree too, 26 seems be the norm each year to make the cut
there are a few teams on the hunt, Raiders, Panthers, and to some extent Dragons

If we can put them away when we play them i reckon we will be a good chance

In any case, we need to win games to make the 8.. No point doing numbers if they cant collect the 2 points per game

Was just having a look at our draw and you're spot on. We can't make the finals in the next 2 weeks but we can just about miss out if we lose both games. We should have a pretty good idea where we are headed by the bye week.

The next 2 games into the bye are very winnable. We then have a tricky period before our next bye before what looks like a pretty soft run home.

Only problem is any time you start thinking we are a chance we normally go on a 3-4 match losing streak.

I'm thinking by round 21 the wheels should well and truly have fallen off the Eels season. Foran's out, Paulo and Peats are gone and Norman will probably be suspended by then. I've pencilled that game in as the one to get our F/A back in the black.

I think the Dogs game is going to be tough, but I do think we'll win at least 1 of our games against the Panthers. I don't think Penrith is consistent enough to beat us twice.

Gee I'd love to beat the Cowboys at Leichardt. That'd be a season highlight regardless of our finishing position.

Melbourne mite be without Smith and Cronk they usually rest one game over origin …Next stop could be good :sign:

Were long odds to Make the 8 to be honest.

If we can beat Melbourne and Canterbury in the next month, well its a different story then.

However i cant see it.

I just hope we can stay in contention until a couple of weeks to go.

Its been a while since we even did that.

Having something to play for with 2-3 weeks to go would be nice.

The three matches between the two byes are crucial.
Lose all three, and we become a mathematical possibility of making the eight but no real hope.
I'd be ecstatic if we could win 2\. No one gives us a chance in Melbourne, but it is a good time to get them. It's post origin, we are coming off the bye so should be fresh and full of confidence and it is a 4pm kick-off. I'm praying to the weather gods for a dry track. And, I think the tigers will still be smarting over the 1 point Leichhardt loss. I'm expecting a big performance from us. Fingers crossed

If we can beat Melbourne or atleast put up a decent fight and be in the game for majority, there's no reason why we can't take confidence out of that and roll on for the rest of the season into the 8

If we get towelled well then we've just gone backwards
