The senior players

If Potter was indeed brought in to change the culture, undo a "boys club" and set a new structure, then of course he is going to upset some senior players.

Imagine a new boss walks in and undoes all the perks and comforts of your job. It may be for your own benefit, but you won't like it. Everyone wants to get max pay and enjoyment for minimum fuss.

So I for one am glad to hear not all the players like him. This business is more about results than popularity; in other words, results breed popularity. Some of the worst coaches in the world have been the nicest, most popular guys.

As a coach at junior level the first lesson I learnt was that you cannot please everybody, players or parents (fans). It takes courage but I am very now very sure that Potter has plenty of it. Good luck to him for standing his ground and not conceding to anybody's strategy but his own.

So, Banji then was re-instated as part of Potter standing his ground, was he?

No, let's be honest, it seems likely that he was coerced into it by his senior players. Did you see that photo taken after the team selection, of Liam Fulton with his arms around Ben?i.

No I didn't but clearly there is a "controlling" group therein, which wouldn't make Potter's job any easeier! Thanks for the good discussion!

Farah, as captain, needs to come out and let us know what he thinks. He kept his mouth shut about what was going on with Sheens last time but thats not good enough as a captain. Time to lead Robbie.

leadm or whine…he's good at the latter!

I'm getting quite sick of this boys club, I assume that pea heart Marshall is at the centre of it the sooner he is gone the better. The will probably be two distinct groups the younger guys and the older guys. The younger ones need to not be infected with this rubbish and Robbie as the captain needs to get rid of this culture and move on, I for one hopes Potter can at least see out his contract, I don't think he will have half of the problems he us having with out Benchy around.

As I posted earlier in another thread, things were going along okay a month ago, some good on field performances, player coming back from injury, some good efforts even in defeat, than all of sudden the drums started to beat. Just happened to be after Benji did not get his four year golden handshake. Since than all eyes have been on Potter. I would imagine their is a group within the playing group that are very peeved with Potter and are stirring the pot, with so many young kids in the team who look up to these players, they are very easy to sway.

Give Potter 2014,let the dust settle and when the old players walk out and the new players walk in, things should turn around quickly

could the senior players that arent happy be the likes of marshall, utai, bell, moltzen, tuqiri, iosefa, reddy who have more than likely been told they arent required next year but havent been given an answer that they can accept and are just disgruntled at this fact
