No one is irriplacable, including Mr Sheens. There are a number of English coaches who might go alright. Mal Maninga is another one. His club record is not so good from memory, however his SOO record is great.

Bottom line is if you do not get results you should be moved on. Sheens snagged a win in 05 but nothing before or since.

The new CEO has gone ok so far. He should not be rushed into signing Tim before the end of the year.

Given the article in the smh on Sheens future safe at the Wests Tigers…...it certainly deserves a poll......

C'Mon.....Sheens supporters and detractors alike .....tell me what you really think?

Comments welcome........

what do you think geo.?

I think that Sheens time was up in 2007 but in the Infinite wisdom of the Wests Tigers Board his contract was extended untill 2010…..

Since then though he seems to have changed his ways..cut the deadwood signed Ellis re-signed our guns in Robbie and Benji, Lawrence as well as the next level in Moltzen, Ayshford and the like as well as overseen the development of young players that made the Grand Final in the NYC competition.........

But most significant of all is the signing of Folkes ..it was obvious things were going stale in the Coaches office,,,,fresh ideas where needed......a change in the coaching staff most good judges on here have been calling for since 2007.......We have got that ......Royce can now be consigned to the witches hats on game day...more power to him.....

As with all things Sheens though It doesn't matter what I think....Sheens has a point to prove in 2010.......At the end of the day whether Sheens stays or goes will be up to Sheens..........

For the record despite all my gut instinct........I think he should be re-signed but I have a lot of faith he's still got it

yeah he has a point to prove, but i don't think think our unsuccessful last 4 years has a ALOT to do with him. i think it has been to an extent the ill-disciplined team. our defensive record clearly showed that. if we can repeat our end of season form we could really shake up the competition. if we fail to make the eight next season, let me assure you there will be a huge question mark put next to his name for the future.

anyway bring on 2010!! :sign:

Look guy's, if some are happy to keep Sheens after a failed 2010 then it really is no use talking to such stupidity. No better replacement?????????????????? How do we know? We dont try anyone else. 9th and 10th seems to be good enough, so as long as Sheens "seems" to be the best option, thats all that matters…....pfft.

Agree with all that….but I think a decision needs to be made around mid season.....so the Club knows what's going on so plans for succession could be made..........What if we are going great and Royce's name gets thrown up..........

I think the club needs to look at the chances of Sheens being recruited by another club.

Despite being one of the games most successful coaches he has missed the past four finals series and I don't think there is much chance that he would be stolen from under our noses.

That being the case, is there any hurry to re-sign him?

I say we wait til round 10.

na enough is enough,im sick of losing thanks to sheens crap coaching
hes record should tell you he crap lol,is our club that dumb not to see it :stuck_out_tongue:

lets my Folkes the 2011 coach

So its all the coaches fault? Farah has been our hooker for the last four years and we have missed the the 8\. We sack him too? Sign some young bloke thats never played first grade hooker in his life because he MAY do alright?

We do that with & without sacking players, its called recruitment. :unamused:
.Fair dinkum mate…if thats all you got.........

I voted for his time is up and I truly believe that he has created this situation for himself. With the additions to our squad and some really good young forwards coming on then I believe if used correctly our starting 17 will get us into the top four or five barring too many serious injuries to our main men (same as every other team). I think that we will walk into the eight but I have set my sights higher because I am old fashioned and still believe that the best chance for a team to win the premiership will come from the top five. To me scraping into the finals in eighth position is far from being a big deal and that is something in the past that we have never been able to do because IMO some players were not being used as they should have been because again, IMO Mr Sheens is too pigheaded to change one of his brilliant ideas and sticks with it for three or four losing weeks. I think that Folksey will be a big plus in our stable and Sheensie will really appreciate him being on board. That's my opinion and I am Quintus….so there. :supporter:

I'm waiting to see what he does with Fitzhenry - if he blindly picks him everyweek when there are better options then I really think he has lost the plot!

The stakes are high now high for Sheens, he has a reasonable squad and needs to start finding some consistent wins.

It was a post with a ton of sarcasm Sirro, no real logic intended. But the point I was making that players need some accountability too. 2007 we needed to beat Souths at LO to make the 8\. How many of our guys turned up to play that day? Those blokes on the feild give a stuff that day and we make the 8.

Tim to Stay for sure - He is held in very high stead with the players and is now Australian coach which will increase the clubs attraction to players.

Dont forget our club is a relativley young club with not as much money to throw around. The right people are being brought in and the facilities upgraded year on year…

B4 Tim got here we didnt even have a perminent training ground. He set up Concord.

To the many detracters (ommited word=whingers) Not good ennough to have him leave with out someone better to step in.

Who else is better????

1 playoff birth in 7 seasons. Find me a current coach that has a worse record than that over the last 7 seasons.

There is only one thing this poll proves - The majority of Wests Tigers fans accept mediocrity.

4 seasons without making the finals. Yes it is the players fault too but Sheens is the one that coaches them. He has a big say in signings, and he also chooses who is in the team and in what position. They follow his tactics.

If we go really well next year then I might change my vote to Yes but at the moment it is No.

Try 1 out of the last 12

"There is no one better".

What a pathetic excuse.

Another season without finals football and Sheens has to go, no if's or buts about it. Hence I will reserve my judgement until the end of the year, as should the club.
