The Storm Rorting Super Thread.....

Here is why:
They have fielded "illegal" players (formations) in everygame over the last five years therefore:
They altered the outcome of 5 Premierships. 06/07/08/09 & 2010!!!
Brisbane won in 06 but did they really win fairly seeing that the all the games involving the Storm that season we're not fair contests. Manly won in 09 but did they really for the same reasons as above?

And in 2010 the Melbourne Storm will have all the power at their disposal to alter the finals make up of this comp.

Scenario: The Storm are still permitted to play with a squad of 4.8 million so therefore they could easily smash most sides just as they did previously. They could easily play harder against the TOP4/TOP 8 "contenders and deny them of 2pts yet still have the power to throw the games against the lesser likes and before you know it, 24 pts will get you in the 8 and canberra, knights and the cowboys will be playing finals footy! :bulb:

They will destroy this 2010 comp 1 week at a time!
They have no integrity, they have displayed that by rorting the cap, the players will feel hard done by and will retaliate accordingly. :astonished:
This is going to get uglier than what it already is.

The rort will go on right under our noses and we won't be able to do anything about it.

And surprise surprise. we are the last "legitimate winners" of the NRL PREMIERSHIP!

Gotta love our team stats.

Hahaha so technically we are defending the premiership this year! Comeon boys!! Let's make it back to back titles lol

OK guys …..this was getting a bit out of control with the number of threads started on this issue....

Whilst the ramification of the Storms Act are far reaching......Lets try and keep it controlled in this one thread....

Many thanks
Geo.

I agree, so why not be awarded the two points if you win or lose even if you lose when playing against them.
that way you team is not completely dis-advantaged.

When youre away all day and get home & try to read it all at once, its a mess…probably best to lock new threads rather than merge as its a dogs breakfast really, which is a shame as its an intriguing topic

It's not that hard…..It''s all about the same thing.......

Stinking Class act Storm and their Rorting ways......

Would you like me to change all the Titles to ....The Storm Rorting Super Thread......

Ink, with the amount of threads that were open you would have had the same problem. Almost the entire first page was about the Storm rort. You would have sat in your chair for hours trying to read it all. I think it's better it was all contained in the one thread.

Err…you have been reading them seperatley, I can see threads have been mergers & discussions interrupted.
Its several threads all mashed into one.

Chris, if you locked them and left this one open ...at least this one discussion would be somewhat continuous.

Sorry for offering constructive criticism, I know its not an easy job.

Fair point ink….but if we locked them up the discussion end right there with no right of reply at least here and it does get messy for 2 pages sorry.......... you can still reply to someones point of .....Giving away Premiierships. Why should the Storm stay in the comp....the storm wrote of 5 premiership....etc

The Sponsorship Thread and Did the Players know? have been hve been left alone as they are seperate issues to themselves.....

but always open to criticism and probably done it different next time....thanks...

I mean try putting a Sheens Super Thread or a Fitzy 1.....It's like trying to hold back the Ocean.....

I'm sorry if this has been asked as I haven't read through all of the pages in this thread yet but I wonder how far the books go back. I wonder if the Storm cheated before this aswell.

Storm scandal: Lavish payments revealed
AAP, Yahoo!7 April 25, 2010, 9:31 am

The extent of the Melbourne Storm's lavish secret expenditures are coming to light following a secret file being handed over to the NRL on Friday.

The Sunday Telegraph has revealed players received cars, shopping vouchers and home renovations outside their official NRL contracts.

Four hidden letters of offer have been handed to the NRL and News Ltd reveals one player had an official $400,000 contract and a second letter of agreement of $550,000 on top of that.

Other additional offers included a car for a player's partner and home renovations.

Three of the four letters of offer were signed.

The Sunday Telegraph reports it is unclear what taxation arrangements were made over these 'gifts'.

Bellamy vows to not surrender

Fans turned a club members' familiarisation session at the new Melbourne rectangular stadium on Saturday into an impromptu supporters' rally - more than 2,000 turning up at the newly-named AAMI Park to watch the players train.

And the fans made it clear to a group of players and staff still reeling from unprecedented penalties this week over the club's salary cap rorting that they still had support.

Players were visibly moved as fans gave them a standing ovation once they emerged for training - shaking hands, posing for photographs and signing autographs ahead of a session in which their every move was cheered.

In a prepared statement read to media at Melbourne's soon-to-be new home, Bellamy said the 48 hours since the NRL hit the club with heavy penalties for salary cap breaches - including stripping their two premierships - was the toughest of his and his players' sporting lives.

With his entire playing squad standing behind him, Bellamy said he would not walk away from the club.

He said he welcomed the NRL's continued probe after it was revealed the Storm had been involved with long-term salary cap rorting involving clandestine player payments.

"The two things they can never take away are our dignity and our integrity," Bellamy said, before refusing to answer media questions on the grounds it may compromise the NRL investigation.

"That is why we welcome the full forensic investigation that is taking place at this club. We know we will be investigated. We welcome that.

"I love this club. I love these players. These players love our club. This is a great club, it's a strong club, it's a very proud club.

"This is why we stand here today united. We are not going anywhere. We ain't going to surrender. We will not walk away from this challenge."

On Thursday, the Storm had their two premiership wins in 2007 and 2009 stripped, were told to pay back $1.1 million prizemoney, and fined another $500,000 for the breaches.

The club also will play the rest of the NRL season for no premiership points, starting with Sunday's match against New Zealand Warriors at Etihad Stadium.

With another 17 games to follow Bellamy insisted they mattered deeply to him and his players.
"We will fight our way back from here. It starts today and tomorrow it starts on the field," Bellamy said

Gallop has already said that Melbourne won't be playing in the NRL next year unless they can get under the salary cap before March 2011\. So why are they still allowed to play this year if they are still $700,000 over the cap???

Do we just add 2 to every team that lost to them so far? Then boot 'em?

I don't know because if a team cheats by having 14 men on the field they get stripped 2 points but the other team doesn't get the 2 points. Melbourne shouldn't be allowed to play again this year or next year unless they find a way to get under the cap. The team that was going to play them should get the 2 points because it's like a forfeit. If Melbourne find a way to get under the cap this year or next year then they should be allowed to play, and also for competition points, but their points that they got so far should still be stripped.

Well if they boot them now, the draw becomes a complete farce. Some teams will have 4 byes and some will only have 3\. Everything just gets messed up. If they force them to get under the cap before continuing, then we'll lose players overseas or to other codes, as clubs will not have much room left under their caps.

In other news, there looks to be a big crowd for the Storm at Etihad right now. Good news for the future of the game in Melbourne, lets just hope they can keep it up for the rest of the season.
