The third and final Rep Player for 2011

It won't be Price. He approached us before he signed with Warriors but he wasn't wanted here. I can't see opinions changing about him this time.

 Seems like a lot of if's and Buts about Willie their Ron…..

I'd think Gallen or Civoniceva might be on the radar...

I would think the Aussie Coach might go for a current Rep player not a washed up has been.....

no ifs and buts mate, its pretty simple, if he performs on and off the field he will be pursued, obviously if hes getting into trouble off the field he wont be looked at.

and as for willy being a washed up has been, i think you are letting your personal feeling for him cloud your judgement, willy is far from done and we seen that towards the back end of last year. he will be a great pick up, and wont come with the price tag he would of 3 year ago.

Mason..really??? I'm glad the Tigers didn't pick him up this year because I feel that his best football is behind him, but if he does happen to kill it for the Cowboys and stay out of trouble, well he may be worth looking at on the cheap, but I reckon there would be better options at this stage.

Of course all these scoops come AFTER the story is published….

mate you can PM kul if you want i told him about this 2 weeks ago in reguards to willy.

Not interested in inflating your ego…I'm happy to wait for things if and when they eventuate

@ willow,

yeah i thought the same when i heard it, but then i started to think about it and imo he would be a great pick up, i doubt he would come at much more then 220k these days and he still has alot of football left in him, hes only 28 i think and with the right team around him would prove devastaing again.

the only hiccup would be that if he does absolutly kill it for the cowboys he may feel inclined to stay with them as they were the only team that gave him a chance, but also i guess with them tabling that huge offer to thurston they may not have the funds to keep him long term either. anyway will be interesting to see what happens with him this year

WT waanted Laffranchi back in the camp and he came within a whisker of being in the black white and gold for 2010\. I was told his legal advice was to stay at the Titans and bid his time.

I am pretty sure if WT can pay him a decent amount he will be back for 2011.

But is Sheens going to put him in the front row? We still have Ellis and Heighno for next year and they're by no means past their best, plus another year for the likes of Dwyer, Mataka, Schirnack, Moors etc to develop…

While ive always felt Laffranchi is a little overrated, i do believe he still has something to offer. However, if he plays 2010 like he did 2009, then i would stay away from him, as it would then be evident his best days are behind him, but if he does get back into form, then he'll be worth looking at depending on how our young backrowers shape up this year.

I think your affection for the Willie is clouding yours…

He's played 2 decent games in 2 Years 1 V Dogs in '08 and 1 V Knights last year...plus he still has to prove he is over his knee reco...as I said a lot of it's and buts even if he is on the radar.....

That sort of mediocraty the Tigers don't need.....If he was 1 of ours he would have been bagged,,,even Rorter supporters I know where glad to see the back of him,,,,there is a reason.......

If it's going to be a backrower then.......... Gallen>>>>>>>>>>daylight>>>>>>>>>>>>Willie.......

Any good players coming off contract in the super league

I think that may be where he comes from…remember Humph did say he talked to others, not just Lote...when over there.

I think UK is a better option as well.. they come here with the view to impress and wont cost a bomb compared to NRL Reps. we buy another NRL they have the expectations to live up to…

Just out of interest for those judging the players based on things other than playing ability who has the worst off field record out of Gallen, Mason & Laffranchi?

IMO willies main problem is that he seems to be a really bad influence on young players which we have a lot of. Huge risk for our team even if he does play well this season.
Gallen I think is an absolute grub but he's inspired a lot of players through his toughness on field. Folkes coaching Gallen could lead to an absolute monster of toughness on field.
I wonder what Mick Crockers up to these days.

they all have their off field dramas, gallen - racisit remarks, willies constant peeing on walls and laffranchi's sexual assult charge, but most have indiscresions even with in our ranks, gibbs, laffanchi (at the time)benji, so no ones immune, i just feel that its used as an excuse most the time, bottom line all 3 are great players and offer something different and i wouldnt say no to any of the 3 afore mentioned

How about somone like Matt King being a player possibly targeted? He was a rep level player who has heaps of experience and Sheens has always said Ayshford is a lock.
