His intention to play on is a decision based on $$$ and not on form.

The fact that it has now caused a schism amongst the public is disappointing and proving to be an unwarranted distraction.

Unwarranted distraction how and for who

I respect Kul's view point. I'm sure most of us have great memories of what Benji has done when he was in his prime and I agree with Lauren if we didn't have reynolds eating away at our salary cap and were able to offload him Benji could have stayed on for 1 more year as he isn't costing us much but the truth is I would like to see Benji retire he has done alot for the club but every year he continues to play his legacy will be tarnished by trying plays that he can't pull off anymore.

Also it's time for some new blood lets see if the next generation can get us where we need to go

Benji must be the luckiest player to ever play the game according to some ,14 years of playing many different coaches at the tigers not to mention dragons broncos and NZ captain. I don’t know what any of those coaches saw in him ,I wish I could be so lucky.
That last kick hopeless being 20 points down after 20 mins how could he let that happen.

Talk about an emotional post.....

No one is questioning what Benji did.

Fans are questioning why he wants to continue when its obvious that he is no longer up to it esp from a D perspective.

In all fairness mate I don't believe Benji has been on that much since coming back and he would probably earn more from doing media commitments. In saying that I do think it's time for him to retire.

I was being serious for once ..

It’s the desperate housewives that want him to play on ..

Sorry don’t know what happen there , and this club does not have to many champions to call on so let the bloke play on .

What happened is the same as what happened to Benji’s NRL career, it’s finished and he doesn’t realise it yet

Take a look at what a media circus it has been since Benji got the news he isn’t getting a contract for next year.
The club has been bashed from pillar to post nearly every day, no coincidence that it started when Benji spat the dummy, we don’t need another year of this sort of bad press

I'm already tired of seeing news stories about suburban sally organising a petition so Wests Tigers take Benji back. How to sully your reputation.
The sanest thing Marshall can do now is announce his retirement and go with glory. 'Yes, I was surprised and a bit disappointed with the way I found out but I realise It's time for a new chapter etc etc.'

I doubt it is based on $, could earn more if he retired.

Playing $ + current fox sports is more than he'll earn if he retires (Not my words - but the words of an ex-team mate).

Wouldn't be walking into a club ambassador role straight away.

What he won't make the same big bucks waitering for Farah and working as a bouncer for McDonalds

I doubt that he would earn more playing and in his current role with Fox than if he went fulltime in the media. If that was the case the club should find him a role to make up the difference if it makes all the drama disappear. I'm sure they could get $150k value out of him somewhere in an off field role,

For sure ..and he’d still get to kiss babies and sign bosoms at full time

If he really loves the club. He'd leave his playing days behind him. The best role for him within the club would be something in marketing. He'll be in the media for years, that's a given. In my opinion, he's certainly not displaying a whole lot of club love. Self love on the other hand.....

Why should the club do anything, they have bent over backwards for Benji.
He walked out in 2013 in another teams jersey, they gave him a 1 year swan song in 2018 when no one wanted him.
He has milked 3 years out of that, and wants a 4th year, this is all on Benji and his ego, the club has done nothing wrong
