Exciting young Wests Tigers five-eighth Curtis Sironen has been named in the Australian U18s Schoolboys team to tour New Zealand in October.
Sironen was one of three Wests Tigers contracted players to have made the 17 man Australian U18s team which was named today following the completion of the Australian U18s Schoolboys Championships at St Marys.
He will be joined on the tour by contracted Wests Tigers players in lock Brendan Santi and second-rower Andrew Vela.
Sironen, one of the young guns in the very talented Wests Tigers U20s side this season, was named the player of the match for NSW Combined Catholic Colleges in their semi-final win.
NSWCCC won the national U18 championships in which Sironen and Wests Tigers contracted player Mitchell Moses were a part of. A five-eighth/half-back, Moses will play SG Ball for Balmain Tigers next season.
Santi will join Wests Tigers U20s squad soon after being named the Player of the Carnival.
A product of Bass High School, Santi captained the NSW Combined High School team and played SG Ball for Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs this season.
Vela is a student at Keebra Park High School who will join Wests Tigers next season after representing the Queensland Schoolboys at the Australian championships. He was named Queensland Schoolboys’ Most Valuable Player.
Kurtis Rowe, the talented Queensland Schoolboys full-back, was unlucky not to make the final Australian Schoolboys side. He will join Wests Tigers next season after completing his studies at Keebra Park.
