This is a great listen so far. An in depth description of someone who has dealt with the big wigs at the club. I’m half hour in and it’s pretty damming

Correct the problem is wests asfield.

They say our players are happy to br nrl players.

Our board and ceo are happy just to be working for a nrl club.

Winning is irrelevant.

Critism on negotiation is on point.

If we lose Stefano to the bloody slime that we signed him from, I am done.

I doubt he’d be in a hurry to go back to the club that gave him 10 seconds on his debut. Then only 5-10 minutes in the few games he played after. Not to say he wouldn’t leave though. Which if we’re being real seems pretty likely. Don’t get too attached till he signs another contract. Until then, think of him the same as Grant. On loan till a better club takes him when he’s ripe.

Legit question. What’s keeping him here?

Right now ? Money, simple as.

Even though it’s just one good season, he clearly deserves a pay rise and if it hasn’t been discussed yet, that’s idiotic. Same as Laurie. Show them the work they’ve done in just 1 season is greatly appreciated and we want to show you how much appreciate it.

The speaker is @trippa101

Great talk @trippa101 make a lot of excellent points

- Understanding leverage
- Plan to win GF not just improve
- Be paranoid

I think pascoe is too relaxed, didn't have killer instinct
And board breed more football and business icumen - needs compete overhaul

I think don't office needs a full review
I think its hard to judge Madge until he has full support around, below and above him

How do supporters rally around this message to make a change

Good question

I think you need to join West Ashfield club, work hard there for a number of years to get nominated for the board, then from there, get nominated for the West Tigers board, though I think someone has to pass away before that can happen?

West Ashfield club own the West Tigers, there is no other mechanism to influence change, you either follow the team or you don’t.

It's impossible to do anything to change the board.

Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't the bulldogs vote out their board a year or 2 ago.

You can become a football club member there and can vote on the board, probably after 2 years.

I believe he needs a Boyd Cordner type to learn from much like a young Aaron Woods needed. Until we can attract the best, we’ll lose the best.

The sacking of Maguire is the most predictable outcome of the "review', not because he deserves it, but more because of the way the review has been structured.

With Pascoe and Hartigan leading the review (supposedly) I can't imagine their recommendations will include CEO and coaching support staff being removed. Of course, strutural and personnel issues in key "club" positions may well be a significant problem, but I just don't see naming them and their inadequencies as being an outcome.

So, it will probably come down to the "blame" being apportioned to Maguire or the players. And, there's one Maguire and 30-ish players. Let's face it, even we can't agree on the list of individual players being responsible for the poor form over 2021. So players won't be held to account and certainly won't be named in public.

Which brings it down to Maguire or Lee H and the Board. And, I hardly think Mr Notice-Me Lee or his Board cronies will acccpet responsibility.

Thanks to the FOX doco, there's thousands of "experts" out there now who see the club and team as a basket case. To hold a "review" and not come out with a clear outcome, will only add to the WT club reputation and brand damage even further.

I know where my thoughts lie, and they are only "thoughts", and that is Maguire should be retained and backed to the hilt in his efforts to change the culture of the club.

But, I am also a paying Member and have been for more than 15 years. If other Members feel the same as I do, they must do as I have done already, and let WT Membership know that our cash cannot be taken for granted. My ongoing membership will depend on the outcome of the "review".

Well the club can be assured that if Maguire is not removed my family and extended family have 12 premium memberships and will not be renewed after 15 season so looks like the club is done either way !

What do you do if they keep him and we start winning?

That’s life .. hope that would happen !

You hope we don't start winning?:fearful:

Just because someone has a viewpoint that aligns with your own doesn't validate the argument.

I'm pretty sure he suffered a career ending injury

Might even be wheel chair bound? Can anyone else confirm this?

Something we really need to build into these young guys is love for the club and convince them they are the guys to turn the club around. We failed with the last group of young players in that regard.

You would never have got Tedesco to buy into that. From the begining he always seemed to be wanting to leave despite all thr club did with his injury issues

Whilst Benny Elias probably has too much of a chequered history to be trusted with the club, a change of ownership or bringing in private investors would do a huge amount for this club. If that’s out of the question (not sure why Wests wouldn’t consider meaningful external ownership/capital if it was the right partner) then a board west that is voted on by members ever 3 years would be a good way of bringing a fresh voice to the board whilst maintaining the Wests dominance

Good point.
Tedesco owed the club a lot and I don't think his love of the Roosters board got him over there.
3 of the so called big 4 shafted the club and so did Benji earlier and don't think either of the board at the time had much to do with it despite showing good loyalty.
Those coffees Woods was having with future wooden spooners at Canterbury at the time while captain were disgusting and he shouldnever be welcomed back.
