Whilst Benny Elias probably has too much of a chequered history to be trusted with the club, a change of ownership or bringing in private investors would do a huge amount for this club. If that’s out of the question (not sure why Wests wouldn’t consider meaningful external ownership/capital if it was the right partner) then a board west that is voted on by members ever 3 years would be a good way of bringing a fresh voice to the board whilst maintaining the Wests dominance

It's a tough one we need the change and some more Cowboys wests mag are way too passive, but new blood would just create more in fighting they'd have to do a straight sell with no involvement.

It's impossible to do anything to change the board.

Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't the bulldogs vote out their board a year or 2 ago.

You can become a football club member there and can vote on the board, probably after 2 years.

WTFC?

or WA Leagues?

He means at the Bulldogs

Filia is Stefanos brother. He suffered a career ending neck injury whilst at Parramatta.

And parra didn’t make an effort to help him out ?

From memory the family wasn't happy with the management of the injury or something like that.

Well let’s hope Stef is a better person than matterson because that didn’t stop him. Tbh I’d be more worried of losing him to someone better

Something we really need to build into these young guys is love for the club and convince them they are the guys to turn the club around. We failed with the last group of young players in that regard.

You would never have got Tedesco to buy into that. From the begining he always seemed to be wanting to leave despite all thr club did with his injury issues

Agree, but it is so important that we establish that with this group.

This is probably the most important factor. A club people want to play for so when you develop juniors they don’t want to leave. I sense they are heading in the right direction.

I really am not interested in private ownership, in the Australian context is not viable and results in you surviving on the whim of a wealthy benefactor.

The best clubs generally have private ownership as part of their model. Panthers, Eels and Knights are basically supported by a single massive professional club which is analogous to a private ownership model

1. Storm (yes)
2. Panthers (no)
3. Rabbits (yes)
4. Sea Eagles (yes)
5 roosters (yes)
6. Eels (no)
7. Knights (no)
8. Titans (yes)

Any idea when this review will conclude ?

Supposed to be by tomorrow - well already concluded, but presented to the board by then. And then we wait to hear the results of their decision. Might be something by the end of the week, although I doubt it. They'll probably make their own recommendations based on the review, have a big chat about it all again and then finally put a plan in place to execute anything that comes out of it.

If I had to guess I'd say we'll hear something in two weeks or so.

Already feel in the same boat with our current owners/board.
KPI's are most likely around having good finances.
For all we know running 12th might be perfectly acceptable to them as long as they have made 500k in the year

They don't make anything from the Wests Tigers, that is why private ownership isn't viable.

You can’t just throw the young blokes straight into first grade and leave them there. You do that and most will burn out in a few weeks, and never reach their potential. They need to be managed into first grade. Like it or not Madge is taking care of the young blokes giving them the best chance for developing into long term first graders and having a long careers.

I don’t buy that. If you’re good enough you’re old enough. Which has been shown with numerous rookies this season. You could argue it’s easier for someone like a Sam Walker because of the experienced squad he walked into but a vast majority of rookies came in, did a job and kept there spot in other bottom 8 teams. Those 2 bulldogs Schoup and Biondi odo reaped the benefits of consistent footy. Schoup missed almost 10 tackles one game and retained his spot. Cini on the other hand had one good game and one poor one and didn’t see first grade again for months. This whole Madge promotes youth thing is an absolute cop out.

You’re living in fantasy land. All the good clubs manage the juniors into first grade. Cini is not a first grader, he is barely a KOEC player but was given an opportunity and it’s so far 66/33 against him, he needs more time, though I doubt he will ever make it.
