Ok. So Hooper or Rothfiled are liars. (or both)

Hooper reports Sheens is involved in the review as part of his new role at the club.

Rothfield reports he spoke to someone who advised him that Sheens doesn't know when he is coming here or what his role is with the club.

Hmmm.....Who do I trust?

I tend to agree with Benji. I tend not to blame Maguire…. Im 50/50 but in reality I think he and the club have been put in a terrible position by the continual and relentless media barrage. It has been non stop for years really and last I looked there are another 5 or 6 clubs equally or worse than us but a lot of the time they skate…..I know the results have been bad but again, in comparison. I think this contributes to players and agents thinking twice about us etc etc. in some ways we need a real clean out inc front office to totally rebrand and re-envisage what the club is about.. tbh I don’t know….

Yea i don't know how Saints fly under the radar. They have only made the semis twice over the last 10 years with a far superior roster than we have had over that time. Their front office has been a joke for years with the fans wanting to hang Doust for most of that period. they sacked Price and replaced him with McGregor, Then sacked Mcgregor and replaced him with Dean Young. They offered him an assistant role under Griffin but he couldn't get out of the place quick enough. Their recruitment and retention rivals ours for how bad it is. They are constantly the March premiers only to finish bottom half of the table most seasons. And yet they get a free ride from the media

My partner loves possibly every single sport there is and is always reading up on anything and everything. Found the following (The NFL’s Empathy Gap) on his phone and thought I'd share with the forum for anyone interested.
It's a bit of a read but very interesting - especially since I know absolutely nothing about the sport, teams and persons discussed in the article ?
https://www.theringer.com/platform/amp/nfl/2021/9/9/22663734/nfl-empathy-gap?__twitter_impression=true
Also apologies for not posting the whole article, but didn't wish to bombard everyone given the recent spate of articles/media from me plus like I said before, it's a bit of a read.

Good article, thanks Lauren.
Recommended reading for everyone at the club!!!

Simple communication a lot to be said in that article about the workings of the Tigers the Coaching and Administrative areas seem devoid of the simple art of communication ,it does not cost one cent and could be the most powerful aspect moving forward .Maybe the removal of the 2 main figures in there respective areas could greatly improve the communication level at the club .

Yep, the foundation of a good culture. Have you ever wondered about the value of “the leadership group”, and the possibility of it being counter productive?
I think it was Cleary who had the team playing with 5 captains? Apparently to grow the “leadership group? In a club which has a reputation for infighting and shifting of responsibilities, this was obviously a move that did little to reinforce honest , open communication. Yet, we continue to divide the team into two groups?

I have again contacted WT and pasted my post above in the Comments section of the online form.

This is the automated response:

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ENQUIRY, SOMEONE FROM OUR TEAM WILL BE IN CONTACT WITH YOU SHORTLY.

I'll let you all know how that goes, if it actually happens, of course.

You should also send it to the CEO

Wouldn't expect anything though.

Didn't even offer me a free sticker pack ayyy @hobbo1

The sacking of Maguire is the most predictable outcome of the "review', not because he deserves it, but more because of the way the review has been structured.

With Pascoe and Hartigan leading the review (supposedly) I can't imagine their recommendations will include CEO and coaching support staff being removed. Of course, strutural and personnel issues in key "club" positions may well be a significant problem, but I just don't see naming them and their inadequencies as being an outcome.

So, it will probably come down to the "blame" being apportioned to Maguire or the players. And, there's one Maguire and 30-ish players. Let's face it, even we can't agree on the list of individual players being responsible for the poor form over 2021. So players won't be held to account and certainly won't be named in public.

Which brings it down to Maguire or Lee H and the Board. And, I hardly think Mr Notice-Me Lee or his Board cronies will acccpet responsibility.

Thanks to the FOX doco, there's thousands of "experts" out there now who see the club and team as a basket case. To hold a "review" and not come out with a clear outcome, will only add to the WT club reputation and brand damage even further.

I know where my thoughts lie, and they are only "thoughts", and that is Maguire should be retained and backed to the hilt in his efforts to change the culture of the club.

But, I am also a paying Member and have been for more than 15 years. If other Members feel the same as I do, they must do as I have done already, and let WT Membership know that our cash cannot be taken for granted. My ongoing membership will depend on the outcome of the "review".

There are 800,000 reasons why he might survive and the board can save face.

Again, I think he is the best option for the job at the moment.

We’re gonna be bad again next year, probably even worse than this season and if Madge is to stay, the board just need to cop that and back him into his last year as one last shot. As I said in the Madge thread, 2023 shapes as one of the most important years for us a club as it’s where plenty of players come off contract and we have even more cap space freed up. All those players , we can start talking to in just under 2 months. None of them will sign here if they can’t guarantee the safety of the coach.

I agree wholeheartedly with the last paragraph. Our membership numbers this season were way too high for what the club dished up and I think everyone should get around dropping those numbers significantly if we don’t see changes for the better.

Well the club can be assured that if Maguire is not removed my family and extended family have 12 premium memberships and will not be renewed after 15 season so looks like the club is done either way !

For the info of other forum members, I sent an email this morning, only two sentences and very polite (without demanding, threatening or carrying on like I run the show) to the CEO. I just outlined what I thought of the club and what I hoped moving forward.

Within a few hours I received a reply. I'm not naive enough to say categorically it was from the CEO's own hand, but I received a response just the same and addressed my concern. Credit where it is due.

So for those bagging the CEO, or the admin or how that part of the club is run and the communication with members, that is the second time in about 6 years I have written a short and polite email, and its the second time I have had a timely response which was respectful and clearly personalised to my concerns.

So take from that what you will.
