The sacking of Maguire is the most predictable outcome of the "review', not because he deserves it, but more because of the way the review has been structured.

With Pascoe and Hartigan leading the review (supposedly) I can't imagine their recommendations will include CEO and coaching support staff being removed. Of course, strutural and personnel issues in key "club" positions may well be a significant problem, but I just don't see naming them and their inadequencies as being an outcome.

So, it will probably come down to the "blame" being apportioned to Maguire or the players. And, there's one Maguire and 30-ish players. Let's face it, even we can't agree on the list of individual players being responsible for the poor form over 2021. So players won't be held to account and certainly won't be named in public.

Which brings it down to Maguire or Lee H and the Board. And, I hardly think Mr Notice-Me Lee or his Board cronies will acccpet responsibility.

Thanks to the FOX doco, there's thousands of "experts" out there now who see the club and team as a basket case. To hold a "review" and not come out with a clear outcome, will only add to the WT club reputation and brand damage even further.

I know where my thoughts lie, and they are only "thoughts", and that is Maguire should be retained and backed to the hilt in his efforts to change the culture of the club.

But, I am also a paying Member and have been for more than 15 years. If other Members feel the same as I do, they must do as I have done already, and let WT Membership know that our cash cannot be taken for granted. My ongoing membership will depend on the outcome of the "review".

Well the club can be assured that if Maguire is not removed my family and extended family have 12 premium memberships and will not be renewed after 15 season so looks like the club is done either way !

What do you do if they keep him and we start winning?

Re-apply apparently?

For the info of other forum members, I sent an email this morning, only two sentences and very polite (without demanding, threatening or carrying on like I run the show) to the CEO. I just outlined what I thought of the club and what I hoped moving forward.

Within a few hours I received a reply. I'm not naive enough to say categorically it was from the CEO's own hand, but I received a response just the same and addressed my concern. Credit where it is due.

So for those bagging the CEO, or the admin or how that part of the club is run and the communication with members, that is the second time in about 6 years I have written a short and polite email, and its the second time I have had a timely response which was respectful and clearly personalised to my concerns.

So take from that what you will.

Were you happy with the response?

Yes. Its the response I expected to be fair. It's not something I would share on here directly because I don't think that's the right thing to do, but what it did was provide me with the knowledge that a personal response was written to address my comment to him in the first instance. It wasn't a copy and paste response.

I suspect the club would be sick of people writing and barking instructions on how to run their business etc etc and threats of withdrawing memberships if you don't do this etc etc. It would wear you down. I'd rather be polite and normal and leave the decisions to them. I will then 'vote with my feet' depending on the outcome - but its not something I have to threaten everyone with as if the club depends on my $100

Do not underestimate what your $100 means to the club in these economic climate !

There are 800,000 reasons why he might survive and the board can save face.

Again, I think he is the best option for the job at the moment.

It's not on Fox NRL now, but this morning Flannagan said he had not gone for the job as it was not open for applications?

Damn, so he's our coach next year.

Hahaha!!
Not going for the job? Means nothing.
Has he not been subtly applying for the job publicly?
I’m sure his agent would be trying to get him a gig, as a coach.

Anyone hear the rumour that Pascoe botched the McInnes signing last year for turning up late to the meeting and not knowing which player he was turning up to meet? Chances are it’s rubbish, however given how unprofessionally he presents himself, it’s a funny story lol.

Lol where was this reported?

On the internet..

It's a fabrication..

Oh... The internet...
Like....this place?

Exactly.

Correct the problem is wests asfield.

They say our players are happy to br nrl players.

Our board and ceo are happy just to be working for a nrl club.

Winning is irrelevant.

Critism on negotiation is on point.

Right now ? Money, simple as.

Even though it’s just one good season, he clearly deserves a pay rise and if it hasn’t been discussed yet, that’s idiotic. Same as Laurie. Show them the work they’ve done in just 1 season is greatly appreciated and we want to show you how much appreciate it.

Can someone confirm this for me

If Madge is sacked he only gets 400 k per season for the 2 seasons he misses ......

That is the agreement he has with the club ...true or untrue ????

Great talk @trippa101 make a lot of excellent points

- Understanding leverage
- Plan to win GF not just improve
- Be paranoid

I think pascoe is too relaxed, didn't have killer instinct
And board breed more football and business icumen - needs compete overhaul

I think don't office needs a full review
I think its hard to judge Madge until he has full support around, below and above him
