Because the players are incompetent. Yes the coach motivates, develops and prepares the team, but if the players are subpar and have minimal carefactor, then there's no coach in the world that can make them world beaters. Because the players are incompetent. At the end of the day, and at the rising of the sun, people are more highly motivated for their own reasons.
Sure it’s the coaches job to identify those reasons and help individuals to stay on track with their goals. I’m sure all coaches would be doing this with varying levels of success.
During the first 10 minutes of all the 2021 games, is there a single one where Nofa hasn’t given the ball to the opposition? Is that part of the game plan?

A coach is only as good as his roster ......our roster sucks big time ......Madge is wearing a cumulutive effect of a club who hasn't looked like a Top 8 side for 11 years ......we can attract players becuase we are miles away from playing finals or pushing a players representative chances .....

How many times this year did we see Madge interviewed before a game and excitedly claim the team trained/prepared well and are ready to make a statement, only to be 12+ down in no time? Same in that stupid doco…he rants and raves and tells them he knows they are ready to dig in and then they take the field and get spanked.
His words have no effect on the players. They are on different pages.

We are getting a bit old ...but the entire pack played either for Australia , Qld or NRL and we had real strike centre with speed ..oh and by the way ...first Open Qld schoolboy side to beat NSW ...we had an age group desceprancy to deal with .....

Happy I am the first to agree our roster is bog average, but even bog average players you expects to see some improvement. Bar a couple of players and as a collective unit they went backwards. I remember many moons ago when I was a school, I was bog average at history, than this unbelievably good teacher came along and pulled my grades up from bottom to top five in the class. Not saying a new coach can do that with this roster, but if he can improve them 1% it’s better than going backwards by 10%
