I hope you are right KS but they will still be debating this in 50 years time imo

Until a 'Wests diehard complains about what was said in this article, its unfair to make assumptions and take border-line pot shots

Come on mate, that wasn't the intention of my post. I simply wanted to get a reasoned and thought out response from some that are in support or organising the rally this weekend. The CEO of Wests Tigers has come out in a local paper and answered some questions regarding some of the larger issues that this rally is meant to address. I would just like to hear what their thoughts are…

Sounds good
Sounds positive
A Magpies junior being given an extended contract…
Alls good
**Sad though to see a balmain fan (his words) join the magpies forum to debate their cause then join again under another ID (purporting to be a magpie fan) to agree with himself.**

We really need to move on from this us & them garbage.
Some wont or cant though.

Pretty pathetic IMO Ink.

good to see a professionally crafted press release that also has sensible content. Well said CEO!
Also exciting to see just how much everyone is talking up young Tedesco.

"Wests Magpies will determine what’s best for their club."
Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys.

Was it the Magpies choice to allocated all of Wests Tigers top 25 to Balmain?

Was it the Magpies choice to allocated the remaining U20's and Fringe players to a Concord Burwood Bundy cup side?

Was it the Magpies choice to be given none of the local kids on Wests Tigers contracts?

Was it the the Magpies choice when the Wests Tigers took OUR training equipment, ice machine and freezer?

Was it the Magpies choice to not be allowed to play before the Wests Tigers matches at Campbelltown?

Was it the Magpies choice to not allow a Group 6 board member onto our board?

Was it the Magpies choice to have all support cut off from the Wests Tigers?

NO.

It was the Wests Tigers choice that forces what has been happening to the Magpies!

It was the Wests Tigers choice rejecting our offer to be the sole NSW Cup feeder team.

It was the Wests Tigers choice to make the Magpies on the sleeve smaller and remove it from the shoulder to the cuff.

It was the Wests Tigers choice to reduce the number of NRL games at Campbelltown from 6 to 4

It was the Wests Tigers choice to not fight the moving of the Magpies heritage match away from the SCG

It was the Wests Tigers choice to affiliate with the Wests Junior League and then failing to keep them under control

It was the Wests Tigers choice that has pressured Wests Ashfield to cut away the Magpies NSW Cup side.

So don't you dare try and tell us its our choice what happens to the Magpies whilst it is the Wests Tigers choices pulling all the strings.

If you're going to point the finger in that fashion, then I really don't know what you expect to achieve except create further division galahs. Humphreys response was measured and calculated, your's is not. I guess you'll know whether it was worth it on Sunday.

Seems to me that the wrong action has been taken. Instead of prostesting maybe some open dialog should have been taken with Wests Tigers Management.

Were these grivances taken to Steven Humphreys before making the decision to protest?

From the article no one from the protest movement has personally reached out to management to discuss this.

I have supported the Magpies since I was 7 and am now in my 50s but most of that sounds pretty hollow Galahs. I know you are much closer to the action than I am but it sounds like a petty list of grievances, most of which have a story which has not been included with your headline complaint.

Wests Tigers choice to affiliate with the league and not keep them under control? What from this year?

Wests offer to be the sole NSW Cup feeder? Are you talking about the offer that was made after the Wests club told WT to get stuffed about a merged team and WT called their bluff?

At least the truth has finally come to the front. Them and us. Exactly as you see it and that is all I need to hear.

Pymble, if you are only hearing some of those allegations now that is because you arn't on the ground floor and actually seeing what Wests Tigers have done to us this year to ensure we are killed off. There is plenty more I could tell you about their disgusting behavior but I will keep that up my sleeve as I still have faith we can mend the relationship.

Smeg
Wests Magpies offered to be the sole feeder before any talk of forming an agreement with any other club. The idea was ruled out immediately.

And unfortunately it has become a case of them and us. The Wests Tigers have decided the Magpies are out. We are fighting that. Therefor them and us.

I have only stated facts mate

In your minds eye of course. Given the ramblings in the previous thread on here which was closed, your facts are highly debatable, your agenda however is quite clear. And from now on keep your agenda separate from this forum.

@galahs said:
And what is my agenda mate if you think you know me so well?

I don't know you at all, so don't refer to me as a mate. We're not mates. I've seen the rubbish dished out by yourself and others on the Wests Magpies forum (including personal attacks made against me by banned members from this forum) regarding this rally. You have now made your intentions clear (refer to your response to Smeg a couple of posts above) as to what this rally is about - Wests V Wests Tigers (surprise surprise).

Well guess what, you can peddle that nonsense on your own forum which you have been doing a grand job of. Don't bother trying to do it here though. It will not be tolerated. And don't bother rambling on about your right to free speech as this forum is not a democracy. We run it in SUPPORT of the Wests Tigers - not to cause division and put the boot into the club which you are taking part in.

That's disappointing Galahs… You know that there are either mitigating, or no circumstances, to most of what you have stated above, particularly since some do not even coincide with your original mission statement.

I wanted some thought out answers, not a crap shoot of blame via a "Jeopardy" style arrangement...

Cultured Bogan do you talk directly to the people at the coal face of the Magpies?
Do you go and look at the training facilities where the missing gear and ice machine once were?

Well I do, so don't accuse me of not knowing what is going on.
\

Sorry mate, I mean moderator Willow. I'll send you a box of tissues.
I support the Wests Tigers, but it is my democratic right to disagree with what they are doing to the Magpies and the area I grew up in. An area I care about.

Do you really think I'd put so much time into this Protest Rally if I really didn't think what the Wests Tigers were doing was calculated, manipulative and focused on destroying the Magpies?

Do you not think this is an act of desperation when all other forms of negotiation were shut off from us?

What did you really expect us to do. Just cop it without a fight???
\
\
If you did, you underestimate the Magpies and our region.

I think Stephen Humphreys has shown he is very understanding to the problems out at Campbelltown and the Wests Tigers are taking steps to have a greater presence in the Macarthur area as is evident by the schools blitz and playing of a trial game.

Stephen Humphreys has thrown his support behind a combined comp in the Macarthur area.
It's up to the incompetents running Wests to do the right thing and combine with Group 6.

Stephen Humphreys has just signed a local Wests junior so more credit to him Tim Sheens and the Wests Tigers.

As far as I can see the Wests Tigers are trying to get a few things right.
Can't say the same for the people running Wests and Group 6\. Do the right thing you twits and combine your comp or let Wests Tigers run the show.

The Magpie and Tiger won't die. Wests and Balmain will still be represented in the juniors. As far as a Magpies NSW cup team that's difficult as we only need one NSW cup team and they need to all train at the same place. I am sure one day that will be Campbelltown but at the moment it is Concord and that's the way it is.

Geez, I hope you take some adults along to the rally on Saturday. Looking at the route, you will have some busy roads to cross…
