Tigers boss backs combined competition

Batboy, i am sure you are a resonable person with good intentions but all this jibber is giving me a headache.

Galahs,I Know you are passionate but please give a balanced view.Wests Tigers are not the evil empire conspiring to bring your beloved Magpies down.

I asked you not to waste any more time and effort in such negitive activities

Say no to rants
Say no to rallies
Say no to division

Lets unite as one for every ones sake.

Jibber??? Reads clearly to me.

we are more in a better position than we ever have been.
i love the way things are looking and it really irks me

We have finally got a team together that has a good chance of winning most weeks. We finally have a club that elite players are willing to join, we finally have a club that the private sector is keen to support and we finally have a club that is being run by a person who is smarter than most other administrators in sport.

Now we go back to all the factional fighting, its not smart. This sort of fighting has destroyed trade unions, political parties and cooperations in the past. Really it can only damage our brand name. Where I agree the magpies have some real gripes, I just dont see all this mud throwing is going to help anyone. The CEO is the man driving the ship and he should be the man to head up a delegation TO GET THIS MATTER FIXED and behind closed doors and not in the media. Blind Freddy knows ours future is in the South West of Sydney and so dose our CEO

I agree, in the long run wether thats 5 or 10 years or even longer, **hopefully WT will realize South West Sydney is the area which will be the most viable.** It will make the decision easier if the area keeps unearthing talents like young Tedesco

HOW do you make that assessment???

The local juniors don't pay the club's operating expenses and I'm yet to see any legitimate business in the Macarthur region make a noticeable financial contribution to the JV or support this ridiculous rally!!!

Galahs mob will only alienate themselves from both WT and the NRL - and on that basis alone they will defeat their own purpose and never get the support they ludicrously "DEMAND" - or any chance of the true agenda - a Magpies return to the top grade!!!!!

You mention Tedesco - but he is yet to play FG and aside from Bryce and Rowdy - we have had few Macarthur originated players make it (Fulton from Parra as was Halatau so neither should be claimed)!

Collis, Gallant, McDonnell ad infinitum were also gun Magpies juniors but failed to live up to the Leumeah hype!! Plus Balmain are happy to claim he likes of Woods, Sironen, Simona, Harrison etc - so we hold ourn own!

So despite the population growth and RL participation - why does anyone think that it is inevitable that the Macarthur is the future for the club???

Until that area starts generating some money for the club and has overwhelming appeal to our major sponsors - they can just wish (and make stupid "demands")!!!!

PS - I always said that we had a very good operator in Mr Humphreys and are the envy of clubs who have/had the likes of Osborne, Don Furner Jr, Irvine, Richardson etc as CEO!

We have the second biggest junior area in the competition. To walk away from it or to neglect is just plain stupid. The Roosters and Bulldogs have already tried to sneak in so they obviously see the value in it so why can't we? . FTR i'm not in favour of the rally. There are better ways to voice your concerns. I don't care about rally's, all i'm interested in is that the Wests Tigers put effort into the Liverpool/Macarthur area and make it their own, and the last couple of weeks have been a step in the right direction. I don't see whats wrong with that

The Wests Tigers catchment area is every where in the world that an NRL player can be produced. This means Benji Marshall from New Zealand, Lote Tuquiri from Fiji, Robbie Farah from Canterbury, and whoever comes from where ever.

No player should be played simply because they are a local junior!

Local juniors making up football sides for the sake of it are dead. Please get with the program.

Sorry I'm newbie! That was meant to be for GNR4life.

One thing is for certain, we are sniffing all around winning the comp. Last year was fcuk up, regardless of the nine games in a row. If our halfback and fullback choices fall into place, we can win the minor premiership and the competition.

I disagree that the factional fighting is necessarily a bad thing. The magpie brand folding at senior level and being replaced in the ENTIRE Campbelltown region as a branded Wests Tigers competition, would strengthen the Tigers' brand, not weaken it. Product differentiation, comprising a predominantly orange strip would assist with product branding, since Penrith and Warriors now play in the Magpies all black strip, and white has become the alternate colour for ever team from the Broncos to Souths. Wests Tigers should be thinking product differentiation!

I don't remember saying we should play juniors simply just because they are local, but its a no-brainer that the bigger the nursery you have, the bigger the chances of you unerathing stars

We should definitely try to hang onto them. Dwyer and Lawrence are proof of that. I'm simply saying they are going to realistically going to comprise a relatively small proportion of our team.

And then look at what happened to Dwyer (we had to replace him with Blair - although we all hope for a happy ending on that one). Nurseries are important, not for Wests Tigers, but for every element of rugby league. Rugby league teams don't own their juniors anymore, that is just the way it is.

Your assertion is ridiculous! I'd rather Jacob Miller was the next big thing frankly, but you can throw in Tedesco for good measure!

South West Sydney will continue to be raped and pillaged by EVERY NRL club no matter what Wests Tigers do! You don't seem to understand this. Are the Melbourne Storm built around home grown players? Were Easts during their recent glory years. This kind of thinking is very silly! It is an all in brawl for players. Mindless assumption regarding entitlement is a formula for disaster!

I thought so too CB. Could swear i read something similar on the Magpies forum

I don't claim to be well read! I am simply expressing a point of view.

So when Tedesco does play a game, which is looking more and more likely in round one, can i include him?

We all want Tedesco to be the next big thing. It isn't the point.

Cambo is due. Dwyer was had, we all know that. Bring Tedesco on. I'm not anti Cambo.

Yes Tedesco needs to play a season of top grade, not one game.

Didn't Melbourne get a few players from then juniors ?which just so happens to be there feeder club in qld
Smith, slater, kronk, inglis , foloua , and there are a few more

If your club is in Melbourne, Queenslanders aren't local juniors.

Who plays league in Melbourne ??
They dont have any juniors , so they get them from there feeder club in qld
Probably the point I was trying to make is that they are all local juniors from one area being given a go , only difference is if they crack FG they play for Melbourne
As apprised to buying players from all over the shop like roosters do
Hope this makes sense

I do know what you mean! But I doubt you are right! We have Cronk, Inglis, Smith and Slater all
claimed as melbourne juniors.

Billy came to Melbourne begging for a try out (IF ONLY)! I've read that many times. Inglis is from
Kempsey (talent scouted presumably). I don't know how Smith or Cronk arrived as local Queensland juniors for Melbourne.

But it aint got nothing to do with tapping a local competition. Melbourne look everywhere, as do every other club!
