Brent read was on Brissy radio this morning ragging out the club calling us a basket case over Benji, then says he believes Benji should retire, However i believe we have done the right thing and cuddos to the club for being on the front foot. We cant win with the media, i thought Reid was ok but he lost me after this morning. Hope Benji decides to hang up the boots after our last game. Hate to see him at some other club having to battle younger guys every week for a place in first grade. He deserves much better than that.

It's his own choice though whether he is in that scenario or not. WT have done nothing wrong here, they have chosen to make a business decision instead of an emotional one for once.

Benji is a club legend and I love the bloke. I also look at Robbie in the same way. In my opinion Robbie was in far better form when he announced his retirement I just wish Benji had of made the same call. Good luck to Benji in the future whatever he does.

I am just glad someone in the club had the plums to pull the trigger, Madge has been stroking his ego for 2 years, it looks like it took Hartigan and Pascoe to say enough is enough.
The club tried to do the right thing, but Benji's huge ego would not let him accept that his time is well and truly up, sad really..
Rowdy copped the tip and signed of with dignity, he hasn't played a game since, if Benji was sat out like that he would be screaming like a stuck pig, just goes to show you the quality of the man Rowdy is.
The WestsTigers owe Benji nothing, they gave him a lifeline when no one else would, after he walked out the door in a huff in 2013, the way he has handled himself in this makes me glad he is gone, I predicted all this would happen in May, sad I was right really

Any chance that Benji and his manager have been agitating at getting a larger contact and a bigger role in the Club next year.

You could tell he was hurting but didn't dump on the club despite being given every opportunity to. Said he found out through the paper yesterday, someone should have spoken to him before that story.
