I think you'll find we are paying far too much for far too little…

I remember Sheens making a statement we had to pay overs (100+) to keep juniors like Sironen etc, while they were still in 20's.
That's why Sironen has been in the NRL since... Because he's been on NRL players wages...

JT was quoted in saying that our cap was a mess and it's gonna take a few years to clear it.
The back ending of contracts of Siro, Rowdy etc. Would be killing us....
- As well as having some of the best juniors in the comp.

We are broke - We are playing poorly - We aren't getting numbers to games....

There's not that much on the market worth buying this year. Next year there is plenty of talent on the market so wouldn't be that unhappy if we saved the cash to be honest.

The problem is that no one with any sense will want to sign past 2017 as thy will want to be free to see how much they can get after the new playing agreement, and the new TV deal.

It's bizarre that nothing has been announced. The person who said they were pending usually gives good mail. Leads me to believe it's one of the following:

- Signing(s) closely guarded until after round 13 it would be a decent player. Fringe first graders signing wouldn't be kept under wraps;
- Signing(s) may have been pertinent to other deals going through. There's a chance that this may have been linked to DCE, and now he has backflipped this player has gone cold or has been offered better money?
- Signing(s) may have flipped based on recent performances and got cold feet.

If the club announces no pending signings, there's nothing to deny. Carry on, nothing to see here.
