Tigers Lui eyes Cowboys return

You would have to think that after letting Moltzens go the chances of them letting Lui go would be very slim.I like the look of young Miller but I tjink he needs another season.

Now for left field, we could let Lui go and get a new hooker and move Robbie to 1/2 back, would free Robbie from all that defence work, and get him running the ball. Lets face it there is some good hookers looking for a fulltime gig. Your thougths. :crazy or

DOES ANYONE have any views on my left field idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing for the Cowboys to approach the Tigers for a possible release. Another thing entirely for the Tigers to agree to it.

I thought Farah should have moved to half years ago but he was against it due to his rep desires…...look how thats turned out. I think he would be the NSW half if he did make the switch 3 years ago. I totally disagree with those who say Farah at 7 has failed in the past. He played well there, got a couple of MOM and showed GREAT potential. Yeh he didnt take to it like a duck to water, but but he showed enough to suggest he would be a very good halfback, and lets face it, they are very hard to come by. Much easier to find a good hooker than a good half, so i think your suggestion has some merit. That being said, i dont think it will happen, Sheens and Robbie are both too pig headed. Another thing that needs to be mentioend is that everytime Robbie played half it was without Marshall outside him, he had Morris, so there was a lot of pressure on him. Robbie looks much more effective at first and 2nd reciever than he does at hooker these days.

Happy Tiger you are dead set kidding stating that you believe Ray Thompson is a better footballer than Robert Lui.

Heard a few weeks ago that a current Tigers back had signed with a QLD NRL side but wasn't going public in case he put his position in first grade in danger. Doesn't seem to worry our forwards?

That rumour has been around for months. Only problem is Lui has a contract for next season. If he signed with another club the tigers would have to know as he would have to ask for a release.

Underdog there is plenty of good hookers playing second fiddle at clubs take segeyaro at the cowboys, heremaia at the warriors, the young new zealender at the panthers, and with the money we save on lui it would work. 😛ray:

At the cowboys game at Leichart two years ago,Iwas sitting next to the lady who was boarding Lui at the time.He hadnt broken in to first grade at the time, but she said the cowboys had wanted him then.

so obviously they see him as one of their own and want to get him home.

And they haven't given up on him.

If you ask me, the Cowboys have been very patient with Thompson, who has yet to perform at anything close to Lui's form at the end of last season.

Lui looks down on confidence at the mo, probably related to his poor defence. I noticed last week he tried to get his head down a lot earlier, in order to use his shoulder in tackles more, not particularly successfully. Bad as his tackling is, it's no worse than Benji's used to be, or even Lawrence when he first started.

You need to watch him play more often Vicious . Thompson will finish up a far better footballer than Lui . His defence is 10 times better than Luis and he has better hands and speed than Lui In what area do you find Lui better Looks ??

He is going nowhere. He is part of the plans for 2012 after letting Moltzen go. Source.. Lui's manager.

What do you think Miller is… he is the first 1/2 back we have had since Prince with a huge off season thank you!

lol so Miller is just gonna step in and be the answer is he?
yes Lui's defence is a massive issue, but when it comes to directing the side around he comes nowhere near Lui
i look forward to seeing how all of Lui's critics react to Miller if he doesn't perform

The club has worked with Lui for a number of years and the results are not that great -lets see if Miller is the answer and if the club does invest as much time with him as Lui and then compare.

If Miller is thrust into the 7 spot next year I for one would not expect brilliance from day 1 - but I would expect improvement after a few months.

that doesn't make sense as if it was Lui for example,he couldn't sign with anyone else as he's contracted for next season, unless he has been given permission by the Tigers
there is no chance of anyone signing a contract with another club in secret, without the Tigers knowing, if they are under contract

id say he has Thompson covered in regards to ball playing and taking the line on

I think Sheens has plans for young Siro in front of Miller, maybe Benji back to no7, he plays that role now for most of the game

6\. Sironen
7\. Marshall

6\. Marshall
7\. Miller

6\. Marshall
7\. Farah
9\. Politoni

1\. Marshall
6\. Sironen
7\. Miller

3\. Nofoaluma
4\. Ayshford
6\. Lawrence
7\. Marshall

In honesty all of these are decent options. Lui would be a loss, but not a massive loss. Unless he improves towards the end of the season, continuing to persevere with him would be at the expense of someone else. Eventually you have to cut your losses.
