Tigers official team vs Panthers

1\. Buchanan has been very disappointing this year. Will first grade bring out the best in him?

2\. Lawrence has also been disappointing. What will bring out the best in him? I would venture to say a stint in State Cup would but Potter would never accommodate this thought.

3\. Luani? He is lucky that he was originally selected for first grade earlier in the season. He and Lawrence are continually selected due to the fact that Potter subscribes to the axiom of the old Australian Test Cricket team , i.e. once you are selected in the team it is just as unlikely for you to be dropped (even if you are playing terrible) than for a talented up and comer to make the team.

4\. Halatau is too small to play as second rower against the huge pack which Penrith will be fielding. I can only see his contribution as a reserve hooker or a reserve in case of an injured back.

Luani this guy is a joke… Last Saturday in Premier league was nowhere to be seen after 20 min others had fill in at dummy half . I am very disappointed with Potter as he seems to have no idea how to deal with no Farah ,this did not work against Souths so he persist with it very poor IMO, Austin did enough to get the 1 last week but Luani what a joke .

Buchanan and brown are picked in the nsw residents side,

I'm assuming that this means he will still be playing this weekend, it is only residents after all.

I have said before Potter picks teams that he thinks might not get beaten, rather than teams that might win.

This team would not beat most reserve grades. Have not missed a game at LO for yonks but it's hard to get enthused about this one

Sorry SC but they need you and every other supporter more than ever

Don't you remember your vows "through sickness and through health "

Supporting a footy side is a bit like marriage , you don't agree with everything they do but you love them anyway

Buchanan has been playing all season as if he is severely fatigued. I don't think that a Wednesday night game will help his situation. Maybe there is still hope for Gavet.

Realistically Potter had 2 options. Write this one off and blood some young players or pick the most experienced side he could and hope to get into an arm wrestle. In either case we're really up against it playing one of the form teams of the NRL basically at full strength when we've got a weakened side. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

I dont think many people have confidence in the team that was just presented.
I thought Lulia would be picked but was hoping he wasn't and Potter have some balls and pick Fine.
I know Austin did well at FB but he makes the team stronger coming off the bench and covering alot of positions which he has not let us down (He will still do well but would of rather seen Moses back there).
Luani has been poor unless his performances in NSW cup have improved. We lack punch around the middle with him there and not happy with this selection.
And lastly Jack Buchanan - sorry but offers nothing off the bench bit like Penrith selecting Shaun Spence who has played all year in NSW cup for them.

I hope they all prove us all wrong but I am not happy with the squad selected nor confident of a win this weekend.

Yes usually get to LO but not this week , I really thought that Potter would of went for the points as I think the cattle are there , I am still not over the poor selections and performance against Souths so the same same old, I am now doubting a top 8 finish.

Buchanan's selection is very disappointing. Hasnt dominated in State Cup. Would have had Brown or Gavet ahead of him as both are far more suited to a cameo off the bench.

Buchanan and Brown got selected for NSW Cup Residents, therfore ineligible to play for us? I guess Potter is forced to play Gavet.

Gavet not being picked could mean a few things.

It could just be pure match fitness, or it could be his punishment for Turning up late.

Either way the coach has his reasons, and is building his new culture based around that.

Although many aren't a fan of Buchanan, he has been starting in a team that has been winning most games.

What does it say to him, if he performs well in the grade below, and doesn't get a call up when we are decimated with injury?

Hard work should be rewarded. In the past he hasn't played terrible for us, he just hasn't had much X factor at all.

And before people attempt to jump on me, I believe he is currently a fringe first grader, not in but not out.

He needs to pull his finger out and have a big game, remember he is still developing as a front rower. So I'm not willing to write him off yet.

gavet has been selected in the NSW cup side, so has Moses. Was looking for our new winger Sila but there is no sign of him in any grade, does any one know why, ???

We will be slaughtered through the enter. Why does Potter persist with Lawrence. So much talent in our young guns.

I agree with you Alex, we now have two plodders in the forwards - Keithy and Buchanon …..as well as three in the backs - Anasta, Lawrence and Lulia. With the service they're bound to get from Wallace and Soward I expect the Panthers centres to cut us to shreds......What a conservative, boring and, in the end, short sighted set of selections! Does Potter actually watch NSW Cup or NYC? Luani, Buchanon and Lulia have done nothing to warrant promotion. Pick Cherrington, Brown and Fine and you inject speed, flair and enthusiasm. On top of that you gain some insight into what our prospects can do. I promise I'll eat my words if we miraculously find a way to win. If we do, I predict it will be the Origin score line of 6-4!
