In future if we have 25000 or more members (hopefully)….how can you play at a ground without that capacity, you could not risk turning members away,

Limited numbers turn memberships into very hot property - thus pumping up prices

Well, looks like Humphreys et. al. have responded quickly and professionally to the numerous phone and email contacts they would have gotten from a lot of non-ticketed members pointing out the oversight in their plans. Nice work.

Or they could just be stalking ink's posts

Hi Guys havent quite digested all the posts and querys on this topic and I have sent an email off to WT membership on this matter. So just clarification from anyone in the know here I am an out of towner and have the Stripes Upgrade that comes with one ticket to a home game. I know these are supposed to be mailed out in Feb with the balance of the membership kit, but does this ticket get me into this game or I have to try and battle on line to buy another ticket and use the one with my member kit for another home game?

I do not care if certain people miss out because of their financial situation,I do not judge these people I just do not care that they have missed out for what ever reason.

Well clearly you don't because you aren't in this situation. Stop being selfish for a moment and look at it from other peoples perspective. What if you are on a low income, have a family with a few kids and you all intend on going to the game. Membership for all of you would be through the roof, so you want to just buy tickets or a family pass. Most people would not be able to afford $65 for 3-5 or more people. What if you had been looking forward to this game for months and now realise you may not be able to go.

Thats the worst part of this, they are effectively turning away families.

I have "been in this position"; raising a baby on my own with little to no money.
But I never expected to do what I wasn't able to do, what we couldn't afford we didn't go to. My son and I would just watch the game on TV and make our own fun.
This is the world we live in; it's not like it used to be when we were all young! Lollies are no longer a handful for 5c.

I am a die hard third generation ex-Balmain now current Wests Tigers fan and have no other vices than my team. For the last few years my son and I travelled to Sydney from Newcastle every weekend (when we played in Sydney) just so we wouldn't miss the games. We are lucky to have come through our hard times and can now afford to do these things. In fact we are both Pinnacle Members now and have moved to Sydney to be closer to the team we love that dearly. I don't think the team do this to turn away families but instead to strengthen our mighty club so that many families can enjoy it for many years to come.

Well done Stephen Humphries and well done Wests Tigers.

Leichhardt on a Sunday afternoon is why we are selling out this game! And what a day it will be…...Go the Tigers!!!!!

LATEST NEWS ON TICKETS FOR SHARKS CLASH
21/02/2012 4:41:54 PM

Wests Tigers wish to advise the latest news on tickets for the round one blockbuster against Cronulla Sharks at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, March 4.

The release of the $65 Wests Tigers Season Opener Membership has led to a spike in Wests Tigers Memberships, with reserved seating at Leichhardt Oval now sold exclusively to Members.

Becoming a Wests Tigers member is the best way to secure your ticket to all Wests Tigers home games.

Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said the demand had been very strong since the Season Opener Membership was launched.

“Memberships are selling strongly on the back of high interest and expectation for our 2012 season,”Humphreys said.

“We anticipate releasing a limited number of General Admission tickets for the round one clash at Leichhardt Oval to the public on Thursday.

**“A priority purchase period will be provided to Wests Tigers and Sharks Members before tickets go on sale to the public.”\
\
The plan for round one ticket release is as follows:
-Thursday, 9am: Pre-purchase window for Wests Tigers and Cronulla Sharks Members.
- Thursday, 12 noon: Remaining tickets on sale to the general public.**

Cronulla supporters should follow their official website to keep up to date on information.

Wests Tigers Members will receive an email later this afternoon with information on how to access the priority purchase period window.

Which Thursday Steve?
This Thur or next week?
Thanks mate.

You know….I dont have net access at work...Im going to have to bother someone in the office, taking up my work time and their worktime.
What happens when the PROticket website crashes with thousands trying to buy at once?
Seen this problem before at semis time.

Wow! that is dedication.
This is now the definition of a 'true' fan.
Sorry Frazer, you are now just a fair weather fan like so many othres.

And on topic, i'm more than happy with what the club has done here.
Sure mistakes have been made in what seems to be a last minute idea, but faeces happens. Just as long as they learn from them.

And for those that can't get to this game, there'll be 27 other tiger games this year you may get the chance to attend.

Lovemytigers great post.

I think with all the hype surrounding the game their will be no tickets left at 12pm thursday for the general public. It will be Tiger and Shark Members only.Just My Opinion.

One think is for sure it will be a sell out garanteed!

Well they have to sell 7000 tickets between now and then because that is how many are left.

So for an interstate fan who wants to bring a family of four to the football Frazer its not 38 cents a day

At this stage I would need flights for 4 from Gladstone 2 Brisbane return ,Flights from Brisbane to Sydney return Accomodation for 2 nights and the membership for the family Try $4-5 a day just for one game

So lets say I plan around a particular weekend and then the Tigers decide its a members only day and I'm not a member

Still think its fair .

Happy Tiger,
The situation as been sorted be the club.Every one, irrelevant if they are a Member or not can purchase tickets to the game.

To answer your question lifes not fair at times.

I believe if you want something in life that is important to you,you will do whatever it takes to get it,Irrelevant to your Geographical or financial situations.

This next statement is for every one,"if you are not at Liechhardt Oval on Sunday the 4th March it is ovious to me that you did not try hard enough to get tickets".At some point you put getting tickets in the to hard basket.

Seen this problem before at semis time.

The onus is on you to find internet access.

Generally ticketing systems don't crash. The reason for delays in getting tickets whilst online is you need to take into consideration thousands of people are logging in at exactly the same time, booking tickets for concerts, sporting events, plays, comedy shows etc naturally it will be slow.

Still no news as yet on ticket limits from WT.
