The answer is to get on the front foot and claim Gosford. Will save the club from its eventual demise and relocation to perth.

Worked for Norths!

No it didnt. it was the Northern eagles and no one liked it.

Central Coast Tigers is a completely different thing. We go there and we embrace the central coast.

I'm sure Wests Ashfield would be ok with that.

Yes I am sure Western Suburbs who own the Weststigers would be happy to change their name to Central Coast Tigers which has no mention of west’s at all, Central Coast Magpies would be more of a chance

Not allowed to drop Tigers. NRL directive.

but don't the NRL hate us and want us gone...

They do, however they want us playing somewhere else, crawling to them at every chance and possibly have new owners if they could swing it.

@Russell unfortunately this is the reality check most don’t seem to get... we are/will be perennially battling as a club even if we won another ONE off premiership in the next 5 years. We NEED consistency and change within the game’s general admin ranks...

So why would there be a directive to keep Tigers..can you link said directive..

All the NRL simply need to do is give the franchice licence to someone else come 2022..can't see it happening myself..

Not off the top of my head - it is in the rules and regulations signed by Balmain and Western Suburbs I believe when they set up the joint venture.

Some one also said recently when it was put forward that seeing Wests own the majority / if not soon all of Wests Tigers that they could change the name of the NRL team to Wests Magpies. A few others at time also quoted that this could never happen.

@Geo I didn’t even see that previous post until now , yes we are endangered as an NRL species but there is no way in the world directives for positive bias go out to any clubs other than the GBLCG (Greenberg LoveChild Gang) comprised of Chooks, souffs, donks and the Purple Donk’s

Yea, I remember reading that when the nrl had a CEO's meeting earlier in the year.

@Russell the Tiger is the most valuable emblem in the league
Tiger til we die

Curious to what the value of the emblem is based on?

Honestly, I see the rebuild last another few more years.

I followed the keebra boys and holy Cross boys and our other juniors closely a few years back when TMM , Mitch Moses, Tedesco, Siro, Nofoluma were coming through and I really thought in a few years the rebuild would be over after years of failures. But the club continued to perform poorly but understandly so considering it was a young side. So most decided best option was to move on. Knowing Moses family quite well and his family, although eels fans they were also excited for the future as Teddy was also staying at the back of Moses house.

But it's hard to stay at a club that consistently underperforms I suppose and without the NRL implementing a system to keep juniors it makes it even harder i.e. a draft/trade system for your assets...so it will take another 3-4 years in my opinion before any progress is made on the field because we can't lose the talent we have lost and expect finals appearances (taking into account recruiting in my opinion hasn't been great either).

But alas for most of us patience is wearing thin...which is understandable..

I am sure it is the Rooster, or am I mistaken:white_frowning_face:

@mike Well how many grounds get over 10,000 crowd on a Thursday night, especially when your playing an outer Sydney team like the Cowboys?

@TIGER Exactly, well said. Leichhardt Oval is a suburban ground from last century. It's facilities are not modern and no attempt shouold be made to modernise them, apart from repairs.
It's still a great place to watch league and I hope the 3 games a year there remain.
