Dragons will benefit in the long-term when he settles in a position.

We had to let him go though, he hasn't proven to be a star in any position yet. Sure he was good at halfback, but we have stocks there in Lui and Miller - I know everyone hates Lui but he will get better, even then Miller is a star in the making.

I'm just happy he's not going to be our fullback next season, but at the same time confused as to who is.

Love Brown, but don't know about full-time fullback.

The St George Illawarra Dragons have today announced that Tim Moltzen has agreed to a three-year contract that will see him join the Club from next season until at least the end of 2014.

The Terrigal Sharks junior is currently contracted with Wests Tigers and made his NRL debut against the Dragons in Round 1 of the 2008 season.

Moltzen, 22, is a utility player who can play as either a centre, fullback or in the halves and has made a career total of 52 NRL appearances to date.

He will join the Dragons in November.

Good luck to him. Hope he doesnt get shifted around like he has at the tigers. He'll need to play well to make saints starting side. Kyle Stanley and Jason Nightingale are 2 players that will challenge him for the fullback role.

It is a strange one.

It is a loss in terms of him being skilfull player.

It is not a loss in the respect that he is not a great fit for the Tigers IMHO. We need a halfback who plays structured and his time at fullback speaks for itself.

Its hard to see where he will start unless Hornby moves on.

Tagive & Nightingale are better wingers, K. Stanley is a better fullback, C. Stanley, M Cooper & M Gasnier are infinitley better centres and Soward and Hornby are miles ahead in the halves

Brown will flourish at fullback. He has all the tools, just seems a real confidence player.

Good Luck to Tim at the Dragons, may he learn to catch all the bombs that teams will rain down on him in 2012.

This is good news because just this morning I read that Humphries had said that Moltz will be with us in 2012.

He also said we haven't been talking to Dugan….........good sign???

Plus I don't think the club would leave us without fullback options for next year. Hope they have something up their sleeve.

Seems as if every one is jumping off a sinking ship

Agreed. Personally I don't feel Moltzen's style of play at halfback fits us at all, as it places much more pressure on Benji.

Moltzen is best off at #6, alongside an organising, creative halfback.

The third player to leave, no guesses as two who the next two will be

Im a Moltzen fan so I think we may have off loaded the wrong halfback. Would rather see Lui go and then develop a partnership bewteen Farrah, Moltzen and Marshall. Anyway, that's not going to happen. Good luck to him. If he gets a regular start as the No.7 he could develop into one of the NRL's leading playmakers.

Amen to that. I loved him at half before the injury but it's obvious that (a) Sheens doesn't see him as the future half back and (b) he's never looked anything like as good at full back. He just doesn't run the right support lines, and while he might learn to do so (and good luck to him at the Dragons) we need to be in "win now" mode.

I think we can now safely assume there will be a signing at full back now. McKinnon and Moltzen gone, and Brown either to follow or not rated at full back. I'm starting the "returning players from other codes" rumour here: Ryan Cross, sure, but also Karmichael Hunt and Sonny Bill…

I know all the players would have already known but don't you love how the Dragons have to announce it on our game day.

So goodbye Moltz, Fifita, Gibbs, Payten, McKinnon all for Adam Blair. I'm starting to think we've done a Melbourne Storm. It doesn't all add up for to the signing of one player

Wonder who will be our fullback next year then. Brown cant hold down a spot this year let alone in our 'new and improved' 2012 side.

Im starting to think this Dugan rumour is closer to happening then we all think.

And maybe thats why Blair hasn't been announced yet. Maybe WT want to announce both at the same time

Good luck to him, I hope he finds his place in the halves at the Dragons and performs to his full potential.

We're stuck with Lui forever now. Happy days…. :frowning:

Well, at least Moltzen's moving to greener pasteurs. Gonna be in a premiership contender and surrounded by quality. Not going to have to play behind passengers like Lui and will probably carve us up twice a year for the next decade.

Sigh, good one Timmy!

This is a great day I'm feeling really confident about tonight now.

I am not going to miss his pea-hearted displays "attacking" the football
