Tim Moltzen

Both different styles of players, but I think the coach see Lui as the no7\. As far as defense both have their short comings, as for kicking game Lui probably has the better short kick and Moltzen a better long kicking game, passing Lui the better selective pass and Tim has the better long passing game, speed Tim far more pace, but Lui stronger in a short burst. Both would not be out of place in the no7 but my guess Sheens will give Lui first crack if his head and fitness are in the right place

x2 but you are forgetting one thing. FORM

If Lui shows at training that he is able to carry the form from the Dragons game, then without a doubt Lui should be the number 7\. I agree with Kaiser about Lui being slow and that's a negative.

I have said it from the start, Moltzen is best served as a no. 14 ATLEAST until he has a few games under his belt. It would be stupid to put him back as a halfback in his first game even though halfback isn't his best preferred position. After a few rounds, we will see who serves Benji better, Lui or Moltzen but as for Rd 1 Lui is a better option than Moltzen.

You keep saying that Moltzen should be 14 without the slightest acknowledgement that the coach typically gives that player about 5 minutes of game time.

Currently, I am only speaking of Rd 1.

As for later, I personally think Lui has a better potential than Moltzen. And it's all about what is best for the team. These are the positions Moltzen can play:
1\. If McKinnon is fit, he will get first shot, but I think even brown could be better at FB than Moltzen.
3 or 4\. Ashyford and Lawrence are way above Moltzen as a centre.
7\. refer above.

The only position I can think for Moltzen is no. 14\. The knee injury has affected him deeply TBH and if that didn't happen he could have made that halfback spot all his own. As I'm saying Lui should be the auto choice for Rd 1 and as the season progresses, we will see how it goes.

Moltzen can play a number of positions however Lui does have the same flexibility at NRL level so it very much comes down to how firm Sheens is on playing Lui at half and Moltzen at fullback or off the bench. Brown and McKinnon also put pressure on selections as does the dredded injury issue that raises its head every season.

I would like to see Lui learn how to defend properly and play lock, then we would have them all in the team.
