Tim Simona - Deregistered

Why would the NRL even name her. As if her identity wouldnt be kept secret.

I don't think the NRL did name her, the post I seen on Facebook naming and shaming her was from a guy claiming to be Simonas cousin.

Why is it none of the major news outlets have done an articles, checked the stats with David Middleton and showed us all in slow motion how many times last year the opposite player to Tim simona scored the opening try just saying ?

Like I wrote early on in this thread when everyone was talking about mates, "hell knoweth no fury like a woman scorned".

Two wrongs do not make a right and I do wonder how this sits with her now.

As I recall because I have said this more than once we win more games when Tim is playing than when he is not.
For the moment I will stick by him. I find it hard to believe that his intent was to throw games.
Will wait to hear his defence before making judgement - whatever the outcome he is already a victim of his own stupidity.

Good to see such esteemed (and seemingly indescretion-free) coaches as Bellamy and Bennett have had their 2 cents. "Some people never learn their lessons, there are always people with indiscretions" says Unca. Like cheating on your wife old mate?
"These things can be manipulated far too easily" says Bellyache. And shonky player contracts can't?
Off topic but to hear proven scumbags spout righteous garbage is quite laughable to be honest. Let someone with integrity throw stones - but that isn't the modern day media's way of operating sadly.

Makes me sick to think that while we were struggling in the headlines Department last year we had a player that was helping make our Season worse by letting players score Tries .
The guy has no place in the team i support .

I particularly like this quote from a police source re Manly's match fixing allegations - "“Proving match-fixing beyond a reasonable doubt is extremely difficult,’’ said a NSW police source."

Fittler was just on Channel 9 speaking about Simona.

Correlation doesn't equal causation.

Anyone who has the morals so low that they would bet against their own team and teammates, does not deserve to wear our team colours.
Whether is was just a dumb brain explosion or a gambling addiction no excuse.
"Hell hart no fury like a woman scorned" his ex.

It is true that Simona is our "winningest" player in the last 3 seasons (where games played > 20): 49.09% wins (27/55) when he is on the park. Our overall win rate during this time was 42.08%

The "winningest" players above Simona, sub 20 games from 2014-16 are, in order:
Ballin 2/2 = 100%
Fulton 4/6 = 66.67%
JLJ 2/3 = 66.67%
Fine 2/3 = 66.67%
MCK 3/5 = 60%
Anasta 7/13 = 53.85%
Elijah T 8/15 = 53.33%
Joel Edwards 4/8 = 50%
James Gavet 6/12 = 50%

There is some but not an absolute correlation between wins when playing and losses when not playing.

Simona happens to also be the outright "missed most" footballer from 2014-2016, we won only 2/17 = 11.76% when he was not playing. You would expect this has something to do with the quality of his replacements and lack of centre depth, but its a pretty striking stat.

The Top 10 "missed most" footballers 2014-2016, in order after Simona (if the player plays a game in that season, then the games they did not play are counted, I can't keep track of injuries and when they joined the club etc., but for most players they are not mid-seasons moves):
Pat Richards won 1/5 without him = 20%
Nofo 6/24 = 25%
Woods 3/12 = 25%
Anasta 3/11 = 27.27%
Brooks 2/7 = 28.57
Galloway 2/7 = 28.57%
Fulton 6/18 = 33.33%
E Taylor 3/9 = 33.33%
Gavet 4/12 = 33.33%

All this being said, I'm not on Simona's side. Even if we do well when he is on and badly when he is not, you can't bet against your own performance. It clouds everything, there is no fine line, no grey area, he has these bets in his mind when he takes the field. That is not forgivable.

If this comes out to be true, I can't fathom how anyone could defend what he's done? He has breached the trust of his team mates. Imagine going out there week on week and trying your guts out only to find out one of your team mates is possibly throwing cash on his opposite number to score? It's unforgivable in footy circles.

Small bets could have been laid so as not to arouse suspicion. Sounds like no one got a whiff of this until his ex turned him in.
