Tim Simona To The Sharks?

His had a couple of good games in the 3 years in our top grade. Don't think his worth keeping and neither do the club because they signed Richards. He will be moving on.

You surely can't be serious! Have you actually seen this bloke this year? I can't go on after reading that post; I need some drugs.

tbh i thought the same last week- but this guy just keeps getting better with every hit up.

when he puts on a couple of kilos of extra muscle- he could be even a bigger attacking threat.

i dont think he's been tested in defense enough yet though to be a full time centre but after a while we'll see how it goes.

he's signed up with us for next year- we'd be stupid to let him go now

This rumour is really beginning to die off, over on LU forum, there is someone claiming he was about to sign with the sharks, however with the release of Pettybourne we can now expect him to re-sign, whilst on the sharks forum others with supposed 'inside knowledge' have been saying that Ashyford is in fact the player off to the sharks, as has been mentioned in another thread.

This is how i see it. Timmy has proven he'a got the talent. This is the first chance he's had at an extended run in the team. Ever since the Penrith game, he's found the self belief and has gone to the next level. Now if his future is still in the air, you've got to think that with Eddy going, Tim's a shoe in to stay - unless the club advises him otherwise.

This rumour is obviously not going away. Twittering now. Does anyone know what is REALLY happening

looked at the sharks forum today and they were saying it was going to happen after the game, then the next day then the next day, then tomorrow and it will probably go on for the next week. But i say its all BS because they said that Wighton had already signed and its 3 weeks later and nothing has happened. i doubt that he would go. Unless Potter has said to him that he won't be in the first choice team for next year.

Might be reading too much into it but Grant Mayer on twitter seems to be implying that we've made Simona an offer but he's either asking for more or another club has offered well above us. Doesn't sound overly positive as far as retention goes but can't expect the club to make the mistakes of the past paying overs. If it comes to it, I'm sure we'd all rather see any extra cash go towards retaining Brooks/Moses.

Will be a shame if we do lose him but from Timmy's point of view, if you're offered a better deal elsewhere i think you take it. Especially as he's just breaking out. There's no guarantees in this game sadly. It would also help that he has something NO sharks backs have. Pace. He'll be a shoe in to start so long as his form warrants it. Must admit Mayer's comments do draw the inevitable conclusion. Not to forget Robbie's spray about our retention in recent seasons.

The good news for the club is it won't hurt us too badly. Lawrence, Ayshford (rumoured sharks too), Richards, Nofa, Koro and Naiyaravoro are all still available.

That tweet seems pretty optimistic to be honest! Experience is Blair (under contract…. ), Farah, Pat Richards, Benji if he accepts the mediocre salary, Galloway, Fulton, Anasta (contracted for 2014) and even woods would be experienced by next year. He could come close to 100 games next season i think?

I think we're a good chance of resigning around 85% of the young guns until 2016\. That is, Brooks, Moses, Santi, Koro, Simona, Nofo, Lovett, Woods, Sirro, Buchanan, Sue, Ava, Taqele and Rhys Armstrong (new to NYC but could be a keeper). So we'll probably lose 1 maybe 2 of them maximum. Just the way it is.

THe one thing that worries me is our past , we have a history of letting gold go and keeping the lead

Agree with this post Happy.
However I guess they have to let someone go as Richards is coming, but unforunate it has to be Simona :bash I think the Sharks and Tigers must have some treaty between them, as all our players seem to go there :crazy I suppose we can start supporting them now

You know this Simona situation has an identical ring to Patty Richards who ironically returns next season. Pat's form like Timmy's was solid if not unspectacular. He then began to find form and by the time he'd signed elsewhere his form had exploded. Terrible timing for the club.

I keep getting this horrible feeling we will lose Brooks and/or Moses….

was talking to a friend of moses on sunday, he was telling me we are no good things to keep moses, but he is in talks with the tigers, and he has had other good offers, from two other clubs.

Can anyone explain how this could be possible? He's under contract til end of next season. Other clubs can't contact him before June next year. Anti-tampering laws.

Black and white. Any club offers a contract to an already contracted player without written permission from the player's club (don't think Tigers would be that stupid) it's a breach.

So how are people saying Brooks and Moses have offers from other clubs? Surely could be no more than 'if you don't re-sign with tigers by next year we're very interested' and even that is illegal - but does happen.

On SImona, is he worth 200k? Not yet. Is Ayshford? No. But if we had a choice of retaining one of Simona or Mr T, who would you prefer?

I'd probably take Mr T, as we already have Nofo, and Koro, but would be happy for Simona to play in the centres.

Mate, where have you been, the June anti-tampering law has been dead for 5 yrs, and even when it was in effect people abused it left, right and centre,

Sorry GNR4LIFE . Have actually been overseas for much of the past few years so may have missed that one. But does that mean that any club can offer a contract to any player whenever they want?

I thought that, if he is tied up until the end of next year, we would still have the option of matching any other offer, as when Josh Papaali signed with Parramatta earlier this year. The Raiders matched the offer within the required time frame (not sure about the cut off date), hence he is still at the Raiders.
