Time to make the magpie more visible.

Yeah Yoss just brush it off. Its no big deal that the club neglects one of its colours promoting the notion that we only have 2 colours

We're talking hair braids mate… If they released a black and white back scratcher I'm not going to get upset...

I don't care about the hair braids either, its not the point just an example. The point is the attitude of the club

What about those Lote hair braid things? those lounge chair seats they have on the sidelines? There might be some White merchandise out there, but it really is few and far between

The Lote hair braids? It's come to that has it? Good grief…

I would of thought that Lotes's not getting any younger

Maybe they should have a bit of grey in there as well :unamused:

Lets just hope it doesn't come to this http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/afl/afl-news/claws-out-in-legal-row-over-lion-logo-20100303-pizw.html

Court action will just make us look like a bunch of fools.

Not that we should be copying everything AFL does but I like that on the back of the jersey they have BBFFC (Brisbane Bears Fitzroy Football Club). I know that the swans also have SMFC (South Melbourne Football Club). Keeps a nice and simple link to the heritage of the clubs.

Although not sure we could agree on BTWMFC or WMBTFC.

Am I imagining it or was it not on the logo at one stage? Something like **Balmain - 1908 - Western Suburbs**…

Just as a little exercise I googled Benji Marshall and checked out the images to see what colours were dominant.

1st image - no top. Bugger! I'll have to look deeper…

2 - orange jersey
3 - white singlet
4 - headshot with black collar
5 - black jersey
6 - orange jersey
7 - orange singlet
8 - white jersey
9 - close-up of white singlet from 3

What does it prove? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

If and when changes do happen, not only the WT but all the hypocrites will be showing the true colors. I love it when they say they don't care, but they twist the story. Read the OP.

The basic problem with your OP is the premise that say over jumper design et al should be determined based on the amount of money groups put into the WT. That should never be the way the club is run. Compared to the NRL grant the investment of either side of the JV is small change.

Changes like this should be the result of reasonable negotiation based on fairness, equality, and the needs of the WT as an NRL club.

Return for investment and return it to its original size. You have a problem with that, it's not even an investment, its a part of a original deal.

Pick a reason. Are you advocating the change because Wests are putting in more money than Balmain or because it supposedly formed part of the original deal? Whice one is it?

Let me say it again. Return the Magpie to the original state as per the merger agreement. Even more so now that there pouring money in. It's not difficult to understand.

Like I said, the money should never be a consideration. It cheapens your argument. As for the original agreement, what does it say? Have you seen it?

What is the minimum size allowed for the magpie on the jersey as per the merger agreement? Is it even mentioned in the agreement? - I honestly don't know but I'd be very interested if someone could point me in the direction of a copy of the agreement, because on this forum a lot of people seem to reference it as if they know it very well. ( This is not having an attack at you, I'm actually interested where the information is from).

I've asked the same question frequently kiwitiger. A lot of people quote it as if they are reading from it sitting in front of them but nobody has been able to produce the document itself.

Suuuurrrre.

It may seem minor, but why not just use our correct colours.

I mean, why not go from black & gold to black & red…..its no biggie.
Or black & white to red & white
Its just an entirely different clubs colours - thats all.

Funny how with such **minor oversight** all the time from the club, we NEVER seen an orange & white anything - do we??

Orange and black are two of our colours so it is a big difference to say red and white. My point was more that the hair braids were an extremely obscure item - I can't even find anything about them on google.

These two items seem to have little to no black

Sorry Yoss my wife has thrown away the news paper of the day that I thought I'd hold forever, stating the merger deal.

But this is all on Wiki

The club's name and logo are a combination of the two partners. The uniform colours are a combination of the black and white of the Western Suburbs Magpies uniform and the black and orange from the Balmain Tigers uniform. The logo combines a modern "in your face" Tiger with a traditional Wests 'V' in the background. There is also a Magpie (taken from the Western Suburbs Logo) on both sleeves of the Jersey.
