Toddy hedging his bets

If the Liberals win the State Election this weekend, Manly will be all but gone. The Liberals will go ahead with the developments on the big stadiums and there will be no hand outs for suburban grounds, effectively ending all suburban football. Manly will be forced to play at the SFS and be lucky to draw 5k to a game. Considering there privately owned cannot see the money continuing to come in once there they have no footprint in the Northern Beaches.

No I don't but they are supported in other ways e.g; lack of scrutiny around their salary cap. If there was criteria to meet it would be to suit them. Things like Supporter numbers, crowd attendance, junior team numbers would be somehow omitted or their numbers inflated to support the cause of the Roosters.

There Manly and Warringah Rugby clubs that have major followings on the peninsular and Noths as well. All of these teams are very strong clubs. Plus the Waratahs play out of Brookvale sometimes.

The NRL seem to be setting this up with a focus on financial stability.

Wests Tigers are the most financially stable in the Clubs history..so why is everyone worrying…?

We're worried about club rugby?

Do you think they should do something about Balmain's part ownership of the club with their financial problems? We don't want to give the NRL any reason to look sideways at us.

Not really..part of the restructure in 2016 Wests Group get 1st option to take full ownership should Balmain continue to be un-financial by 2022..or their 25% can be sold to private investors..

I hope 2022 isnt too late then, it might be something they would like to clean up earlier. I see Jaycar are sponsoring the magpies, there maybe something in the pipeline.

No but the NRL can learn a lot form the ARU and the NSWRU as to how not to run a major sport otherwise I'm sure the NRL will be in all sorts of trouble if they stay on their current path.

Ok this can't be a serious comment?

What I'm saying Cochise is that Rugby is run by clowns and they have brought the game to its knees. The NRL is also run by a group of people with questionable ability. Consider where Rugby was 15 years ago and where it is now.
I don't want the NRL to drag the game down to the same levels

Sorry mate, I missed the not in your comment lol. My bad!

Ashfield will not let it get to that point. There's no value in it for them to tip money into a club that is playing out of Perth. They've invested too heavily into it for it to fail now.

Because once you've signed they can change any KPI Geo

They see where we aren't strong and then start amping up the criteria in that area

I reckon in 10 seasons if we haven't won a premiership in the next 3 seasons we will be playing out of another state

Which area are you talking about can you give concrete evidence..the only thing I've seen reported is financial viability…

I'll still follow them regardless..even if they are relocated to Antarctica ...parking will be easy..
