Tough Times, but Tiger Tim is still the best man for the job

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP TALKIG ABOUT ROBBIE"S PERSONAL TRAGEDY - it is not only disrespectful but to somehow imply that this has impacted on the team's performance is just plain STUPID - excuses have been dished out since 2005 but this takes the cake. I for one, have no respect left for some of our guys in the media. Take a leaf out of the Swans'book, if you want to look at character, tenacity and will to win. We thought them how to tackle but we forgot how to do it ourselves. A disgrace.

Yep, 100% agree. The only one who could possibly say that is Robbie himself, and he has not said a word!!

Turned off the footy show after Beau used that, and now benji has used it. It is a disgrace!!

Shouldn't both be off getting married somewhere.

What a load of crap from Benji! If he wants to talk like that he can take a hike too.

First of all to use Robbie's mum as an excuse is very disrespectful.

Secondly our our attitude stinks and Benji has just demonstrated it in this article. Look in the mirror champ. "If we had won against the Dogs blah blah" The Roosters games were pathetic, Newcastle and Storm games aswell!

Sheens shuffling the team about, picking Joel Reddy, not dropping Ayshford, Blair, Moltzen & Tuqiri.

Sheens' relationship at the Tigers is growing old and whatever he does next year with us still won't hide that fact that he always sticks by tried and tested players and is scared of new combinations. People will say but what about Sirro, Koroibete etc. HIS HAND WAS FORCED. It was a stroke of good fortune!

Our defensive coach needs the sack immediately aswell. If Sheens sticks around this bloke should be first on his firing list.

However, 2013 looks promising, Anasta will be huge for us in terms of organisation and a good kicking game. I watched Pettybourne last night v Melbourne an he looks like a tackling machine. Played almost the entire game! I am heaps excited by his signing!

Youth looks great too. Can't wait for Moltzen to be dropped to the bench or NSW Cup as Tedesco will covering up at the back.

Sad to say but please do not renew Tuqiri's contract or put him on reduced wages along with Utai. Poor Utai's achilles heel is he is rubbish under the high ball. We copped a lot of tries from bombs to his wing. This has to be sured up.

All in all we need a bit more size and mongrel out wide and our defence needs to be priority no. 1\. Our attack will fall in to place. Just look at the stats.

How the hell would he know? He's never been coached by anyone else at club level.

A great example is how he had the Tigers playing when we won the comp back in 2005\. Now everyone plays that way.

WHAT!? What other team plays this way? I saw the two best teams go around on Friday night and both base their game around brutal defense. The same applies for the Storm. Who plays like we did in 2005? NOBODY, because the game has moved on.

The people who say he's grown stale being at the same club for a long time don't see what he does with us - every week at training, Tim pulls out something new. We're practising things that he gives us the confidence to do, like me with flick passes, so that when we're in a game situation, they'll come off.

Too bad he doesn't appear to do any tackling practice, eh? But as long as the flick passes come off… :deadhorse:

What a load of crap.

The sooner Anasta comes the better life will be for Benji on the park. He IS not an organizer but a thrill player. Anasta is the opposite & someone once told me opposites attract uhhhh Paula something…..

Maybe instead of trying something new every week they could focus on the basics like tackling and ball control. 1% may win you a game in a clutch position but if you aren't in a position to do anything with them then it's useless.

Benji needs this change forced upon him like a vaccination on a little kid by the sounds of it. Everyone else sees the benefit but him.

Abduul . But your right Benji can't organise a team for the life of him, the last 2 weeks of the season was proof with no Farrah. Benji plays like his playing in the backyard with his mates, no structure to his game IMO.

My mind is made up. This article has done so.

Wests Tigers will not win another premiership until BOTH Tim and Benji are gone. What an extremely dissapointing and brainless heap of crap.

In regards to people stating how many times we have made the semi's under Sheens though: if we had made the finals every year but still had only one premiership to show for it - what would we as Tigers fans think? Curious to know.

IMO making the finals means absolutely nothing (apart from increased membership, sponsorship and merchandise which are all benefits), unless you win the comp. Give me 3 out of 10 finals series and one premiership over 10/10 finals appearances and no trophy anyday.

LOL….why?

The premiership was great, it was a fantastic ride. The two semi years were great runs home after very average years. Everything else has been crap ranging from unlucky to embarrassingly gutless.

Are you saying you would prefer to make finals every year but never win a Premiership???

Benji can leave door is open for him, we have a great young five eighth and a great young halfback waiting for a call up in nyc.

All this talk about Tim Sheens facing the chop at the Wests Tigers is beyond me - I still think he is the best coach in the game.

He's second to none not only in terms of how he reinvigorates the game, but also the manner in which he keeps up with changes in the game. A great example is how he had the Tigers playing when we won the comp back in 2005\. Now everyone plays that way.

If anyone can rebuild the club it's Tim. He's been around coaching for such a long time. Even though we didn't have success this year, I still feel he is the man for the job.

Put it this way, if I was the CEO or on the board of any club, the only reason I'd change the coach would be if there was someone better - I don't feel there's anyone better.

The people who say he's grown stale being at the same club for a long time don't see what he does with us - every week at training, Tim pulls out something new. We're practising things that he gives us the confidence to do, like me with flick passes, so that when we're in a game situation, they'll come off.

In terms of the respect of the players, on and off the field, he still has it in spades at the Tigers and I don't see that changing.

He always drums into us that the most talented players don't make it in the NRL because their attitude is not right. He keeps us on our toes.

We are all disappointed we're not in the finals. At the start of the year we didn't expect to be feeling sorry for ourselves at this time of year and I think we owe our fans an apology for the way our season turned out. As players, we expected better.

We have big expectations on ourselves and we not only let ourselves down, but the coach, the club and the fans.

It was the players' fault. The coach gave us great game plans all season, but our execution let us down. We were way too inconsistent.

We know, deep inside, that we were good enough to make the finals. But the hardest part is the simple fact that we weren't successful.

A lot of things didn't go our way, with injuries and Robbie Farah's mother tragically dying knocking us all around, but we can't blame anyone but ourselves. It just wasn't our year. It's a hard one as we weren't far off where we wanted to be all year but, in the end, we were so far away.

It's the usual thing at this time of year for the teams that didn't make it - you look back at the games you could have or should have won. We lost to Souths in extra time when Greg Inglis kicked a field goal and there was the game a couple of weeks ago against the Dogs which they also won in golden point.

Looking ahead to next year, the good thing for the club out of this season is we've unearthed some stars of the future in Aaron Woods, Curtis Sironen and Marika Koroibete.

**We've also got a few new players coming in. I can't wait for Braith Anasta to come over from the Roosters, it will be great. I'd be happy if he played halfback and I can go back to five-eighth. I think that'd suit my game and his. I'd have a bit more room to move and he could do a lot of the organising, which is what he's been doing all his career anyway. His experience in big games will also help us out a lot.**

I just want to get on the training field so we get back to where we want to be next year. I know we can be a lot better in 2013 - and I know changing the coach is not the answer

This bit makes me laugh. After the Parra game at Cambo he said that 7 was his best position, so if its his best position why would he want to go back to 5/8\. The whole organization from top to bottom are a pack of clowns

Well you sure as hell can't win the premiership if you are not in the finals!!!!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Sheens has to go and if that means Benji as well, then so be it.

I loathe this blase mediocre average attitude that pervades the club & its fans.
As much as I hate them….Manly have missed the finals 9 times in their last FORTY SIX years....what weve almost managed in TEN years.

Its called a winning culture for a reason....theyve won 8 premierships since.

You put yourself in the position to win, you get one occasionally.

And people really think weve moved on from Wests/Balmain?????
Im not so sure.

That NEVER happens….so why even bother suggesting it?

Answer the bloody question…would you prefer that we made the finals every year for the past 10 OR 3/10 and win a premiership? If you had to choose, which one would you prefer?

I'm not sticking up for Sheens, I think he has squeezed the lemon dry here too
