A bit like most social media......fantasy until the truth comes out.....

I’d rather we give Fitzgibbon or Gebbie a shot before this nuffie

Gebbie playing Flegg atm lol and Fitzgibbon has a good game on the weekend, but not close to first grade! You boys complain about Talau, but want dudes who aren’t kicking down the door in reserves just because they have speed lol

He is just making out he wants to stay at the Dogs to try and get us to offer more before he moves over
He can take what we offered or stay where he is
He has done nothing for about 3 years
Madge can offer an opportunity to try and re build his career in footy
Deal or No Deal

How much?

200K, no strings I would sign him. 600k NO WAY! (actually after writing this, thinking about it... nah probably would let him pass at 200K. You have to min/max to win but you also have to build your side. I don't see how DWZ fixes our defense problem).

So he is linked with Madge because Madge coached New Zealand.
The dogs are getting the Fox, so they are probably looking to upgrade their backline entirely. DWZ has languished in their side and not fitted their football at all. Duffy would be an upgrade and putting him with the Fox brings more Melbourne culture with them. None of this is our problem.

Laurie is our fullback though. The only position I see that we have for DWZ is wing.
I am kind of worried how Laurie seems to be shopped around. Honestly he has been the best thing to hit our side this year. I would be up for offering him a 5 year contract next year like Gold Coast offered AJ Brimstone.

The worst thought is Barrett reaching out for Laurie and giving us DWZ instead.

Going to Brisbane makes more sense. Corey Oates, YES. TPJ YES. No reason why we have to accept other peoples problems or out of form players. Moreover we have a strong feeder club winning games, Winger is the spot for new people to start and join. Why give that to NRL veterans who don't perform? Our problem is defense and DWZ does nothing to solve that problem.

He is absolutely not being shopped around.

We’ve been looking at dallin and Isaako to play wing, because they are wingers.

Fitzgibbon is on the way up and is such an exciting talent he attracts interest, just like JAC did at our club. DWZ has been let go from two clubs and is on a downer. As a development club, buying him sends all the wrong signals to our young players. It's also tactically better to let him stay at the Dogs to frustrate their player acquisitions.

As for Gebbie, unless you have spent time in PNG, it is difficult to understand the adjustment process necessary for PNG nationals. The Olam story is good to listen to for background.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO

No way! He snubbed us 2 years ago to sign with the Dogs! Has bulked up too much and lost his pace

No he didn’t from memory . Wasn’t it supposed to be a player swap with packer , as we didn’t have the cap room , and the riff bailed at the last minute , opening the door for the dogs .

I’d stay away from DWZ. Always been rumours that he was behind the player unrest at Penrith before they let him go.

Please can someone send this Pascoe ,Hartigan ,Maguire ..do us all a favour

Having spent 5 years in PNG, the transition away from family for GEBBIE would be difficult, very talented player, and they are all as hard as nails.

Pretty sure Laurie already has a 3 year contract with us anyway and I've no doubt they'll top it up.

Hope he digs his heels in - he’s on $800k at the Dogs, they can suck it - like we’ve had to do with Packer

Why should we do the Dogs favours??

They can keep him at Overs...

Not really much of a denial there. He chose his words carefully.

Agreed. For mine that is confirmation that something is going on.

A bit like most social media......fantasy until the truth comes out.....

It’s dependant on Dragons releasing Dufty. Writing will be in the wall for him if the Dragons release Dufty. The way I see it playing out is Dufty to Dogs, Mbye to Dragons and DWZ to the Tigers. The Dogs CEO didn’t release details of a Tigers approach without a plan.

Which ever way things end up Tyga,I hope we dont have Dufty,I wrote in a thread the other day that a member of the Dragons reckons Dufty is trouble and thats why they want him gone....bad attitude and upsets a lot of the playing squad...

Even on playing ability alone I'd rather DWZ over Dufty, plus a lot more versatile positionally

If the rumours about DWZ at Pamfers are true, more reason to take him. DWZ (like many Polynesians) is a very religious guy and he was rumoured to have taken offence at the drinking/partying/sex tape culture that was ruining the Pamfers at the time.

He is absolutely not being shopped around.

We’ve been looking at dallin and Isaako to play wing, because they are wingers.

What garbage comes up on this Forum why would they shop Laurie they got him from Pamfers for $150k If anything they would be looking to upgrade and extend.
Also reading in the Telegrap that if DWZ signs to day Tuesday he could be in side to play Pamfers

Seriously, as if we'd be shopping Laurie - some people...... :man-shrugging:

What's wrong with DWH for a wing positoin. Madge made him (C) of NZ team so he clearly rates him. He's got a couple of brain snaps in him but overall a pretty solid winger (nothing else though).

His kick returns remind me of K.Hunt. Fast and ferocious, so good to watch.

Who is this DWH - is he any good?

What club is he from? Is he from ESL?
