TRENT BARRETT GONE

Not player power in my mind really..Hastings has already stated publicly that he wants to play under Madge long term.. POM indicated in his post Crichton is attracted to play under Madge..

I think players want clarity... flies in the face of no one wanting to play for him.. Koriosau and Papali'i both singed a year out knowing Maguire had 2 years to run..

Whilst we are not getting wins at the moment ..the playing group are certainly putting the effort in that suggest to me they are playing for the Coach..

Barrett getting the arse already has talk of Burton wanting out.. how that effects the decision of Kikau among others is yet to play out
Really hoping that the players you mentioned want to be the ones making the change rather than just wanting to come to a "changed club."

Every successful or even a semi successful team has a core group of players because of whom a team would go from cellar dwellers to contenders. Let's look at Raiders in 2019- they came a long way from finishing in bottom 8 for the two years before the Grand Final. Wighton, Croker, Bateman, Whitehead, Hodgson took it upon themselves to change the club.

Gould is egoistic and narcissistic, but he delivers success more often than not. Those who dislike him can insist that the success was despite Gould but I find him to be a brighter Rugby League mind than most (comparing him to other media personalities).

I still think Bulldogs are more likely to make the Top 8 in the next 5 years than we are though.

In the high probability of rebound Dogs winning next w/e,and leaving us stone motherless last on the ladder, you'd have to presume any results-oriented board of any organisation wld surely after 4 years come to the same conclusionas Barrett re Madge's fate??
Weve had 4 years of excuses and apolgies, and yes we have a few injuries which we havent mitigated against, but net net it just isnt happening
An absolutely critical game for the coach, and also the club, particularly re our cred to attract better players going forward

Barrett has never been a good coach, but honestly what does that say about Madge and his current tenure.

After last night‘s loss he’s down to a dismal 36% win rate.

Some of you will say that we don’t have the troops because of injuries - sure that’s true, but the fact is Madge and Cayless aren’t hammering home a defend your line first mentality and they’re not setting disciplined defensive structures.

So the result is that we keep on getting flogged. Api and Papalii will not change that in ’23.

Bulldogs interim coach and players will have a point to prove and our injuries are not going to help us with a win this weekend so it will be miracle if we can pull off a win
