I would play both hope and madden this week in reserves , they need to be fit so give them some time even if it’s the second half for 30 minutes , match fit always a winner and both did zero last night

Whilst match fitness is important, Hope is a fit guy anyway. The coaches won't want to risk injury to Hope otherwise then we are playing Latu or Haywood as 1st choice dummy half with Madden or Sione as relief.

Yes losing Api is a huge loss, there is no discounting that BUT to be a premiership force, we must have a next man up belief. And that man is Tristan Hope.

1 Hope brings an understanding of our system, very good line speed, contact & energy in defence, a strong voice and is aggressive despite his size.

2 He doesn't need to overplay his hand in attack, just provide good service to our halves & middles.

3 Api will have the opportunity for a mini pre-season to freshen up, clear any niggles & return for a big mid-season period.

4 It allows Hope & Latu to get reps & confidence in the NRL which could be crucial later in the season to give Api a rest during matches.

5 It puts the onus on Luai & AD, they will love the responsibility and focus I reckon.

No throw them in for the full game , they need the run and they got 8 days to recover , won’t be surprised if latu doesn’t get the job , just my thoughts

Madden's not a 9. He's not creative, or likely to scoot when there's an opportunity.
Hope/ Latu rotation is the obvious way to go

Played one full NSW Cup game & 20 mins off the bench in NRL against Rabbits and 1 or both trials from memory.

Tristan is extremely underrated.
He will be coming in with 2 very difficult away games where we will likely get sone poor refereeing decisions against us and likely to do much more defending because of it, so it’s virtually setting him up to fail, but he will rip in, give us 💯 and defend like a demon,
I just hope he is interchanged with with Latu or Jock and doesn’t have to play close to 80mins even though he would comfortably get through 80mins if required.

I agree he is underrated.

He wont let us down and you can see he has leaned a ton off Api they have a very similar deception type of game.

Api should be jumping out of his skin to play in a few weeks and he wont be in Origin now.

Maybe he will put in some extra sessions in the gym with the 10 day turn around and fill out the jersey a bit more so that it's a snug fit.
