I remember saying the night the injury happened that he would struggle to make it back for 2010.

Not surprised. Decent blow to us before a ball is kicked.

That comment really shows your colours re this club Bug. Perhaps its time to support a new club. Next you will be blaming the club for the rain on the weekend.

Maybe you should clarify what you mean… Are you saying it's been a nightmare to manage the injury or are you suggesting the WT medical staff have been incompetent in managing the injury?

Just hope he can make a full recovery - he was fine form last season and it would be sad if he can never reach that level again.

Yeah it's just disgraceful how the club cannot make Tuiaki's bones and ligaments heal any quicker :brick:

**Tigers in a twist: Tuiaki's ankle puts pressure on early Tuqiri return**
CHRIS BARRETT

>
Wests Tigers' uncertainty over Lote Tuqiri's arrival date in Sydney has taken on added significance with the club set to lose boom winger Taniela Tuiaki for an extended part of the season after complications in his recovery from ankle surgery forced him under the knife again.
>
The Tigers, who play the Sydney Roosters in their annual Foundation Cup pre-season encounter at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday, have begun negotiations with Tuqiri's current employer, English rugby club Leicester, in an effort to have him released from his contract with the Guinness Premiership pacesetters before it expires on March 31.
>
They are quietly confident of persuading Leicester officials to let Tuqiri pack his bags early and return in time for their round-one encounter with Manly on March 15 - but if talks fail, the dual international would likely only be available by round four.
>
The uncertainty over Tuqiri's arrival date has become more pressing with the deterioration of hopes that Tuiaki would be fit to return early in the season. The giant winger, who scored a club record 22 tries for the Tigers last year before breaking his ankle in their defeat to Parramatta in round 24, underwent surgery again on Monday to have the ankle cleaned out and his immediate playing future is unclear.
>
Tim Sheens, the Tigers coach, said the club's medical staff were uncertain when the 27-year-old New Zealand international would make a return. There are fears that Tuiaki could miss the entire season but Sheens said he was hopeful the 105-kilogram steamroller would recover at some point this campaign.
>
''The surgery was fairly successful but just how he comes back from that when he gets up on his feet and gets around we'll only start to know then,'' Sheens said. ''He's not going to start the season but how long [he is out for] is just speculation. The surgeon and I and the medical staff don't know. He's going to start from behind the eight ball with his fitness and a lot of things but once he gets on the field and his levels of fitness get up he should be all right.''
>
Sheens, who has chosen Tim Moltzen at fullback and Robert Lui at halfback in a near full-strength side for the trial against the Roosters, conceded not having their two fearsome three-quarters on deck for the premiership kick-off was far from ideal.
>
''You like to have all your senior people available so it is an issue for us,'' he said. ''But there's nothing much I can do about it but get on with it.''

To point the finger at the Tigers medical staff is one of the stupidest posts I have ever read. Like with any injury or medical procedure their is usually a few options and in consultation with the player the club and the medical people a course of action is decided on. I can tell you if it was round 20 the club might be looking at a quick fix but a month before kick off they will be looking at getting it right even if its all but season ending for TNT.

Its a real set back for the club, because TNT could score a try that frankly no other player in the NRL could. Anyway the old saying one door closes another opens

the way in which the ankle broke in most cases can be carrer ending for alot of sportsman. Tuiaki WILL BE Back for the Tigers… this season if he runs on that is a BONUS....im gutted he wont be playing with us for the season but we are lucky we bought well..

BB go and support someone else.. not only are u a few short of a six pack ur constant whinging, and old and boring jokes eg the Fonz is about as boring as a test game of cricket..... we get it, ur a lonley old man who is the first to whinge about something regarldess of how important it is..

If you want to know a worse case senario that i pray will not be the case for TNT just google Dean Ashton and read about how his ankle injury forced him to retire. He could have been England's best centre forward.

Don't feed the trolls T-REXX lol…

I'm sure I'm going to look stupid by asking this, but I haven't been registered long enough to know why BB calls Sheens "the fonz"? I have a pretty good memory of Arthur Fonzarelli and I'm sure Tim Sheens doesn't carry on like a stereotypical New Jersey Italian-American...

That being said, all the best for TNT, he'll be sorely missed until his return.

It was a terrible injury. Very similar to George Roses but at the joint so it will take as long as it takes

If he's out for the year, and then tries to fullfill his dream of playing for the All Black, does that mean we might have seen the last of Tui in a wests tigers jersey? that would be bloody sad.

the following is a quote from Sheens in The Australian

"It's not a season-ending injury but he's had a fairly ordinary off-season because of it and it's going to take a lot of work for him to get back to where he was last season.
