Tuimoala Lolohea Signs with WT

Given that the eels seem to benefit the most out of this three-way deal.
Do you think Kearney is sticking up his middle finger to the team that sacked him.

In terms of player release lolohea really isnt a major loss from their 1st grade team.

They get Moses, not sure if the Eels are the winners!

I agree with that, but with all the troops they have out they need some one. Even if it its an overated brat

Not too fussed on the delay, he's mainly a 2018 signing and I've already written off 2017\. It'd be nice if Moses pulled his finger out though, or at least got dropped to reserve grade.

I would be telling the warriors don't worry about the release, you can keep him we will look elsewhere it is not worth the effort.

That makes a lot of sense. You're basically saying you think the next three weeks are more important to the Tigers than 2018-2020\. I'm bloody glad you aren't running the joint.

Lolo has agreed to terms. He is on the bus. Soon as he gets the ok he will be here and signed for 2.5 years and playing 6 for the rest of the year.

Should be here very soon.

With the Russell Packer signing announcement this has been a good week for Wests Tigers. Once again Smoking Gun is on the money.

It is important Lolohea plays with Wests Tigers this season. The club has signed many new players but they won't be joining the club until later this year. With Lolohea arriving in a couple weeks it will certainly help him get used to the club's culture, his new team mates, living in Sydney and Cleary's coaching style. This is something most of the other new signings won't have the benefit of until they arrive later this year.

There is no doubt that Lolohea has ability and a much more mature, level headed outlook than Mitchell Moses. I think that he will slot in very well at fullback after Tedesco leaves the club.

I also think we need him to help fill in some of the gaps with MM leaving. Even if 2017 is a write off it'll be good for him to be introduced now rather than later.

Thanks for your thoughts, I was saying Lolo is not a good enough player to jump through this many hoops, we can get someone else

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary is still hoping to sign Warriors utility Tui Lolohea midseason after he was denied an immediate release from the NRL club on Monday.

The former Warriors coach replaced Jason Taylor at the helm of the joint venture club last month and has wasted no time in recruiting players for next season.

After signing Canterbury five-eighth Josh Reynolds, Cleary moved quickly to bolster his forward stocks, with his old Warriors ties helping him lure prop Ben Matulino away from Auckland, before convincing another of his former front-rowers, Russell Packer, to leave St George Illawarra.

The raid on his old club's home-grown playing talent is set to continue, with Cleary still optimistic of getting Lolohea into his side in the coming weeks, after playmaker Mitchell Moses was granted a release to join Parramatta on Tuesday.

"We're still hopeful of it happening," Cleary told Radio Sport.

"We looked into that and saw an opportunity to make it happen."
Lolohea is contracted to the Warriors until the end of next season but was recently granted permission to explore his options and talk to rival clubs. The club is willing to part ways with the versatile 22-year-old but won't let him go early without first having signed a suitable replacement.

Having been through a protracted and messy separation with Moses, Cleary admits he's not a big fan of players shifting clubs mid-season, but accepts it is a fact of life in the modern game.

"It's just one of those things, with the current player transfer system in the NRL," he said.

"At the end of the day, it's got to be good for both parties. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I'm still a little uncomfortable with players moving midseason.

"But the reality is, if a players pathway is blocked and it's good for both parties, then that's when it can work.

Like who? I dont know about everyone else, seems like youve given up on this year but I still think we can make the 8 and having lolo here will only help our chances

I'd be happy if we avoide the spoon. Granted it's rather pessimistic, but givin where we are at no spoon and I'm happy. Had hopes we would make the 8 preseason, but now….

I can confirm and stated previously that the cowboys offer was legit but his career pathway was suited better at WT. the coin difference wasn't massive but tigers definetly offered less than cowboys
