Why?

Because he's useless and overrated? Never seems to pose any threat at all. Shame, because he was an absolute gun before his 2 year door knocking mission.

I see him as a very solid fullback who, if you get him at the right cash, can just d a job for you.

I agree, he is not particularly threatening.

I would take Hoppa, probably the sort of guy Cleary would like, no ego and a very strong character. As plenty of others have said if we can get him to play sundays I would take him over Dugan,Furgeson or Haynes. Although ideally I would like Lolohea at 1 and Hopo at 4

I think I read that Hoppa has given up his no footy on Sundays clause….

I wouldn't mind him at the club as long as his old man stays well away. Don't want him and his mates hanging around like a bad smell.

TMM I would be pretty sure will be released to Warriors.

That is why reports are saying Lolo will be released in three weeks to Tigers or Cowboys.

If Lolo goes to Cows - Hoppa will be no good to us as a 5/8 and wouldn't be released this year anyway. We will have a big problem then for the remainder of the year.

The standards have dropped dramatically over the past few weeks if we are talking Hiku - would not be worth the paper the contract would be written on. Hopefully we can do better than that.

I agree. I dont want hiku Hasnt played a good gane since manly.Really should make a play for will chambers. Money talks. Would make a huge difference in attack.

Don't really want Chambers considering his age and the amount of salary he could get(which is a lot). I also agree that Hiku wouldn't be a good fit here as his form for the past few years hasn't been great and he wasn't as good as he used to be. I would go for someone like Aaron Gray. He's 22 yrs old, strong, fast and can play anywhere in the backline. Hopoate wouldn't be a bad choice at fullback but I would have to go for Lolohea.

Gray would be good, way better than Hiku, Milne seems like he is not coming which is odd, as saints have 3 NRL centres for 2 spots, and they want Dugan in the centres as well next year.

From what I have seen, a big no to Milne.

I think Gray would be a great choice…and considering his love for illicit substances he is going to really enjoy our end of season harbour cruise.

I'd throw up in my mouth if we signed Hoppa.

Has there been any rumours we are even after him or at least had a conversation, just curious as i havent seen any rumours other than punters here saying we should look at him?

Im already hard pressed to have Reynolds here, Hoppa and or eastwood would make me turn it in for a few years.

Sharks appear likely to get Dugan, so they will drop off

Hopoate would be decent as a centre. He's not a fullbacks rear end though, and the whole not playing Sunday thing is an issue. Yeah it may be a condition he might be willing to wave now, but what's to say he won't renegotiate once he's signed to omit Sundays again?

He came out and said he'll play on Sunday's. he's going well and only 24\. Good signing if we snag him

I am not overly impressed with Hopoate. I wouldn't sign him nor want him at the club. I think there are better options. I'd even prefer Nofo at FB instead.

I know he has. What's to say he'll sign the contract saying he's happy to, and then decide to flip again? Seems like professional football has always played second fiddle to his religion.

Because not every millennial is of the Moses ilk. He played Sundays at Manly, and is willing to now as it is "in the best interests" of his employer. Obviously his faith is a big part of his life, but he's obviously willing to see the more immediate picture in regards to looking after his family. Absolutely no indication he would flip so no reason to suspect it.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Hoppa and Eastwood are a step backwoods
We just look desperate if we want players like them.
And while il admit that Reynolds has ability, I'm just wonder if he'll cost us as many games as he wins for us, a complete loose cannon
