If Bellemy had our team would they play like this?

Nah. He’s about the only coach alive who could turn us into something.

Ask yourself this. How would that Melbourne team look at Wests.

No, they wouldn't.

I agree to an extent, however I cant believe they are all useless. Their skill set development is not showing on the field when it should. Very few of the squad has shown RL basics consistently- yet that should be something the coaching and fitness staff have put in place and be at an acceptable stnard by thsi time of seasno. OK, give a rookie a game or two to get over nerves and feeling his way but after a couple of games they should eb able to consistently catch a ball, pass well, run and defend well, kick chase, come up in defence and defend as a team etc This lot have shown little to no development and we are almost at season end. That is coaching fault,

Yeah they would ..
This group would break Bellamy.

So often i hear supposed experts on podcasts/radio/tv saying the Tigers need a Bellamey/Bennett/Robinson type. They aren't available or aren't willing, nor would many well credentialed rookie coaches be willing to stake their whole future career on turning the club around.
As for point 2, well, some rebuilds do take time. For instance it takes time to get cap space to sign players when you are waiting for players on large contracts to leave. It takes longer still when you cant attract elite talent to take their place (be that due to the club, coach or current roster). Literally the only option remaining is to try to sign elite juniors and wait patiently for them to develop into elite players. Panthers took 5 years, Knights about the same and still not quite there.
If you know another way please enlighten us.
**Panthers and Knight both made semis whilst 'rebuilding**'...yes, they take time but they don't require a team to go a decade without making it. Not even close.
The mythical coach? There are a lot of good, young coaches. We could have been proactive six weeks ago and tried for a Ciraldo with guys like Morris and Kimorley as assistants.
Again, if you want a 4th year of Madge that is fine... but "hey, there is no one better" is not really going to get us far.

Bellamy wouldn’t have these players.

Knights did not make finals whilst rebuilding. They went 6 years straight without finals prior to last year. They signed some ordinary players and nurtured some good juniors before finally adding Ponga. Then they were able to sign a couple more decent players once players could see the club was progressing.
The Panthers did make the finals one year in their 5 year re-build. A bit of a false dawn as their juniors largely overachieved. But again they basically rebuilt their side through elite juniors complemented with a few good signings, again, only once the club showed improvement.
Could go further back and look at the Souths rebuild, a few good juniors, club shows improvement, then actual good signings. It is a familiar path for any club willing to put in the time.
But no, rebuilds don't require 10 years without finals. That has been from the club (in most instances) not willing to put the time into the rebuild. No rebuild is done in 2 years. Potter only got 2 years, Taylor, 2 and half, Cleary bailed after 2. (not that i think all these blokes were actually attempting a rebuild). Changing coaches and strategies every 2 years almost ensures continued finals absence.
That is why i want to stick with Madge. Give him time to actually finish his rebuild. When we either have a competent roster but no results or an improving roster but still cant recruit (i estimate 2 more years) then i will jump on the sack Madge bandwagon. Until then i dont see any other coach getting better (long term) results. Sure they could sign a few half decent seasoned first graders, maybe make the 8, but then they would miss out on the likes of Stefano and Laurie who could actually deliver sustained success.
As for Ciraldo, he wouldnt be interested. I refer back to my previous statement "...nor would many well credentialed rookie coaches be willing to stake their whole future career on turning the club around." This is why the like of Fitzgibbon continually turned down offers waiting for an offer from a club that isn't in such a bad position.
